Shyne Lance Knight was born as the middle child to an older brother and younger sister with two years between them. They were born in Manchester, England where most of the family's childhood was spent. Shyne growing up rather close with his siblings in his younger years basically being like the best of buddies.
In his teen years Shyne got closer with kids in school and spent time with them more than his siblings. This also lead to his first girlfriend who encouraged him to get into modeling for a bit, but he was never sure it was for him, but he promised to really think about it after high school. The two continued to date through high school and ended up getting engaged once they finished high school and they moved out to London. During this time Shyne dropped most contact with his family, focus on his future with his girl and finally deciding to take on trying to become a model. It took a couple years and him working a random local factory job before that job finally happened. He kept this job until his mid twenties, saving the money for his future wedding.
Things started to fall apart when he turned 25 due to a pregnancy scare and soon leading to the downfall of Shyne's engagement as they realized they wanted different things. Work also took a told and he realized being a model wasn't something he wanted to do anymore. He was left with mental health issues and body issues so he quite and packed up his life in London to head back to Manchester. Before the move he'd use drugs and alcohol to cope with the aftermath of the modeling job not working and losing his future wife. During the last bit of time in London he met a guy and they hooked up before Shyne went back to Manchester to re-connect with his family again.
A year passed and Shyne met up with the guy from London again, but in Manchester and after catching up the two hooked up again. After this hook up the two kept in touch and he helped Shyne get a new job opportunity, but it involved moving out of Manchester and that's when he packed up again and moved out to California. This new job was with a magazine and it gave him a lot of good experience before he came out to Aurora Bay and started working for Aurora Bay Times. Getting himself a place in Seabrook Quarters where he's have made his home of 5 years as of mid-2025.
Shyne's mostly been work focused, but he's been enjoying his time in Aurora Bay and open to connecting with more outside work and see where the future will lead him.
mari: yes, it's been back for a bit you slow busy man. thanks for the check in, even if it's a bit late. um.. yeah, we definitely should. where would you like to meet up?
Shyne: Sorry about that, but see you soon. I'm rather excited as it's been a hot minute since we have, correct?
Darcy was frozen herself. She'd often thought of herself brace, especially after all she'd been through, but she found herself feeling like quite the coward in that moment. She swallowed hard and nodded slowly when Shyne spoke. "Right." She replied quietly, and she slowly began to move. Carefully, she placed one foot in front of the other as she moved closer to the room where the noise came from.
"Stay close." She added, more so for herself than anything.
The way he froze unable to move and even when she said stay close, he barely did so much as breathe. It took a moment for the words to hit him and he nodded (mostly to himself) as he moved a bit behind her. If anything happened, he'd have her back, even if it was something that would scare the daylights out of them. Chances are, it was just in their imaginations.
"Neither am I!" Beatrice spoke over the music. "What matters is if you have fun doing it!" She turned and led him to the dancefloor, smiling big as she started moving to the music. "Just let loose! Pretend you're the only one in the room and just enjoy the music!"
Her words put a soft grin on Shyne's lips and he let out a sigh to help him relax before giving a small nod. "You're not wrong. I'll have to do that then." Walking with her to the dancefloor, looking at others around them before back at her with a smile before he started dancing with her. "It is really good music!"
"Oh, definitely," she says with a nod, glancing around toward the various people scattered about the main area. "I think I prefer being here under less... overwhelmingly hot circumstances, too... But yeah it's... Nice. The view's definitely better here." She glances toward the large aquarium sectioned off from the main crowd, though still very visible. "It's probably a little weird for the animals, honestly. They're used to the routine of things."
@shyneknight
Laughing some as his blue eyes looked around at others as well. "I can agree with you on that. It's also not as crowded as some places surely are as well. The sights add to it as well." The aquarium was nice, a place he found very relaxing so to be here now wasn't too bad in his books. "Oh, yeah. I wonder what would be on there minds during a situation like this."
Now Reagan had taken the time to make sure she had a generator but something about being alone while all this was going on felt off to her. She'd much rather be around others and not worry about if everyone was okay. Plus she wanted food and getting company was great to have alongside that. "I mean I get that. I didn't wanna be alone at all. I wanted to be around everyone especially knowing the lights are all out." Maybe knowing that she'd be alone while the outside world was shrouded in darkness made her come out. She wouldn't admit to a fear but it did unnerve her.
A smile came to Shyne's face at her words, giving a nod. "I can agree with that one. I forgot to do the whole generator thing, but I'll invest after this. I definitely have the funds for it," he spoke with a chuckle. "Think I'm good enough company or going to get to know others as well?" It was just a curious question, but he did generally not mind, just being a curious guy. "I'd like to think it won't last though."

where: Aquatica Aquarium (Aurora Bay Aquarium)
Since her own apartment is basically an oven right now, Amara is camping out at work with whichever random townspeople happen to be staying--or at least hanging out for the evening to stay cool, since the aquarium is one of the few places in town with full power and AC. A decent number of locals are camped out on the floor in the main area of the aquarium, with a beautiful view of one of the massive tanks nearby, with floor-to-ceiling visibility of the fish and other aquatic animals inside.
"You know, I think this kind of tops both the weirdest sleepover ever list, and the coolest, somehow?"
The aquarium was easily a place Shyne had grown to love and appreciate, so it felt like a perfect place to go and escape to for a bit. Plus it got him some company which, he appreciated having outside work. A nice way to make new friends and such, or hang with old. Either way, he was all for it. He could watch the aquatic animals go by, which is exactly what he did. It had a sense of calm for him.
"I can see that. Cool place and perhaps weird for being unexpected and well - more people than planned, surely."

Sure Reagan had AC and could have stayed at home but she didn't feel like being a hermit at all especially during all this. Plus she didn't have much food that she wanted to eat at the moment. So that's how she ended up at the high school. She wasn't against free food. "Did you come for the free food like me or did you need an escape from the heat?" She asked the male near her, curious on why others ventured during this all black out.
Shyne didn't want to be dealing with this blackout and such alone. He could easily afford a generator, and he'd be getting one in case now but it didn't cross his mind and he had the regret hitting. Having such or not, he definitely didn't want to be alone, but also, who'd say no to free food? So Shyne was there, and he looked towards the girl, a soft grin on his face. "I'd say both, but mostly the latter. I'm not sure I can handle a blackout and heatwave alone." Sometimes it was nice knowing you weren't alone.

"Welcome." Bryan greeted the person with a smile as they stepped through the front door. He happened to be at the table close to the door, restocking some of the cooling items he had on the table. When he power outage happened, he reached out to some acquaintances for the neighboring town to bring things like battery-powered fans, flashlights, batteries, water bottles, portable charges and first aid kits and non-perishable foods. He posted on the business's Instagram to spread the word so locals could go there. "Feel free to take anything you need from these tables. Anything but the beer is free." he chuckled lightly.
"Oh, thank you!" Shyne said upon walking in and being greeted. He wasn't fully expecting the set up but he was grateful for it. Nice to give to those who needed during this time, and even he was a bit in need himself as he didn't think he'd need a generator. The thought crossed his mind, but he didn't think he'd needed it. After this? He'd get one. "Perfect, thank you. I'd happily pay for the beer," he grinned some before making sure to get a flashlight, batteries and a portable charger. "Your place get effected at all as well?"
"Okay, no I don't live here or even know anyone who does, but if you don't rat me out to security, I'll.....be in your debt? And share my bottle of Jack?"
"Uh..." Lucy sucks at her teeth for a moment, glancing around the store for a basket to put everything in, "Maybe something to hold it all in? I got a little but carried away just picking things up that looked good."
"Gotcha." Lucy nods, not a hundred percent confident she couldn't be potential swayed with any more sweet treats she discovered on the way between the shelves and the front counter. "I shouldn't be long, pretty sure I know where it is."
"I can get a basket for it, no problem." Shyne quickly stepped away to get a basket by the doors of the shop then coming back with a basket for her to put everything in. "I get it. When the sweet tooth hits, right?" A smile and slight chuckle came over him. "Alright, I'll meet you shortly then." He said before making his walk towards the check out.
Where: any of the local bars (might pick one soon)
After meeting at the coffee shop, they agreed to meet for drinks and Shyne still didn't have a name for the guy and was sure to some, especially work wise, he looked oblivious. Truth be told, outside of work he didn't really follow stories on celebs at all. So he was just getting to the bar and just hoped the guy would show. He had no name or number, so he had to just come and hope now. Getting a seat at the bar and ordering himself a scotch on the rocks as he waiting, unsure what could happen really.
where: grocery store or coffee shop, wherever you might find pumpkin spice XD
"I'm not the type to yuck someone else's yum, and I know everyone's excited about Halloween and the 'ber months, but can't we wait for summer to be over before we start with the pumpkin spice?"
"Halloween is already in prep, pumpkin spice started to come about and even people talking of being over summer and in fall mood. Seems like sadly apart of life," Shyne spoke with a bit of a sigh before turning to face the other man. "Though, I'm with you and also wish everything didn't seem to have a pumpkin spice variety." He grabbed something off the shelf. "Pumpkin spice spam, seems like it didn't need to happen."
