Hurrah to one year of this beautiful journey. We will soon be announcing the release of our debut album, Rain is Coming. ⛈ . A year ago from today, I met these two wonderful humans in Varanasi as we were travelling with @vivaconagua through India. 🌏 It amazes me that people from different parts of the world with completeley different backgrounds can come together and feel each other so deeply and profoundly. This picture is from the first night we met, we stayed up all night talking about the world and making plans for what could be a new project. This whole of last year we worked on co-creating an album to raise funds for water conservation projects in Asia and Africa. 🌊 . Our project is called @wearefarawayfriends . We are so thrilled to have more incredible artists join us- @doktordrops @kruttika @julian_pircher drops films and more. I love these boys. Farmed poultry🐣 today makes up 70% of all birds on the planet, with just 30% being wild. 🐦 I am baffled each day, that the wild isn't wild🐾 anymore and SO, I urge you and myself to consume less, consume consciously, support local, grow your own food, spend time with the stars, 🌕⭐trees 🌳flowers 🌸and other beautiful creatures🐝🐛🦋🐌, love hard, and go out– protest and fight for y(our) planet, 🌏 y(our) home. . . . As women, we are naturally synced with the cycles of the umiverse. Time of the full moon is for us to reap the fruits of the seeds we sowed during the dark moon. My friend @bhavikaxaggarwal sent me a link today to a study that established that the average menstrual cycle is not 28 days but 29.5 days which is also the time that the moon takes to go around the earth. Happy international whale shark day my friends 🐳 This magnificent sea-dwelling creature. The whale shark's declining numbers are alerting us to their need for protection and conservation. I met a whale shark a few years ago and it was one of the most surreal experience I have had in my life. She was a baby, yet a giant. And she wanted to play with us in the ocean. Whilst we continue to harm ourselves and the wonderful planet around us and the chances of our survival look grim, there's still so much worth standing up for. These beauties in the ocean are another expression of this beautiful thing called life :) . These pieces of art that I made for my first EP, mumblings had me playing with a whale shark. Recent news about the oceans and forests have left me feeling distraught. However, I know Never is too late. There is a new consciousness rising amongst our species, where we stand United for the pain that we've bestowed upon the earth. Excuse my inactivity on Instagram. Art has a wonderful way of moving us. I'm so grateful for this beautiful drawing and so many more that keep coming my way besides being kicked that I can share it with you all. . Social Media used to tire me out. It still does. Though now, I'm consciously trying because I want to connect with more people and have more people connect with my art and music. I am so humbled to see how I've been able to share with you all, and how this space has grown over the last 6 months. What connects us to ourselves and to nature around us? Is it the same for you? I own about 5 pairs of earings and often wear flowers and leaves in my hair, on my skin and on my clothes to dress up. I suppose its my way of saying no to consumerism but more than that it's a way of connecting with my innermost desires to be one with nature. . I find what connects me to my inside connects me to the outside. Plants, music, whole foods, movement. I'm trying to make my life more and more about these things. I like to think that emulating the qualities of trees and flowers- Stillness, compassion and non judgement will take me a long way. I am back home after touring with #poetryceylon and it was such a heartwarming experience to have sold out shows, to play with @shantanman & @dhruv.bhola; and play earthsongs for all of you who came to share this wonderful experience with us.
