Les dances à travers le monde
We don’t realize what dancing does to people until we watch it happen. Again and again. We move in heart and soul. Every part of our body that we can get movie gets moving. It is a song without words. A story of fluidity.
Dancing is beautiful and I couldn’t stop smiling watching this.
happy belated birthday to james roday rodriguez! to celebrate i will share my favorite image of him
Mockingbird (2)
Chapter 2: Marsh Tapaculo
Summary:
Lassiter wants to thank Shawn for taking care of him. His memory is definitely fuzzy, but he knows for sure that Shawn hadn’t driven him home with his bike. And Lassiter had to walk down back to Tom Blair’s the next day to get his car from the parking lot. He’s curious. And almost finds things out. But Shawn is being smart and careful while things are still new. If they’re sorta friends after this, maybe Shawn will share.
Notes:
We’re getting an introduction to a few more original characters! As for the setting in this chapter: I like to imagine Shawn lives in a decent sized apartment, that he’s close with his neighbors, and he loves that red couch! for plans of a later chapter, I’ll give more of a tour of the apartment. Nickname web: Shawn- Sunny (Summer Tanager) Lydia- Mockingbird Morgana- Magpie Hannah- Monty-Soul (Monticola solitarius) Gus- Finch Karen- Budgie Carlton- Crow Juliet-Sparrow (Passer domesticus) Henry- Harpy Eagle Buzz- Melli (Mellisuga helenae) Kelly- Falcon George- Owl Dove- Dove
Careful footsteps down the narrow hallway. Little tiny snores and puffs of breath in his ear. He couldn’t help the small smile on his face.
Being careful to not jostle both Lydia and his leg —which he would never admit it, but his leg was still giving him some problems. Especially at the end of the day. Or during visions. Or going up a staircase.— he steadily treaded the path.
His daughter’s bedroom was simple. Some old band t-shirts formed into a blanket on her bed. And she had an actual mattress set, in the same dark green she loves so much, but as he tucked her in, brushing her bangs back from her face and smoothing the waves against the pillow, Shawn saw her reaching for the blanket. Little hand opening and closing. The blanket was one of the best and cheapest things he had been able to put together at the time. And since then, it had become way more of a blanket. Ratty but clean shirts knotted together with one of those cheap blankets covered in little blue stars. It hadn’t always been so nice. But when the little girl had been placed in his care officially for the first time, he had no idea what he was doing.
Not that he had much better of an idea now.
He’d spent his first few years with her dragging his bike along in an old run down and rusty red truck. Her car seat was second hand and really only were her toys new.
The blanket had been a quick idea, and a cheap sewing kit did the trick. Nine shirts for just as many dollars. AC/DC, Metallica, Judas Priest. ABBA and Ace-of-Base. Plus a few of whatever blank shirt he could find. But Lydia had loved that blanket for nearly as long as she had been Shawn’s daughter.
Shawn settled on the couch. His girl tucked in with her favourite blanket and her adored bee-plushie. He’d already cleaned up the few toys she’d left out. And there were three unfinished puzzles around the house.
He had begun working to finish the one on the coffee table, the one that was ‘daddy’s puzzle’ when he heard a harsh knock on his door.
He listened for any shuffling sounds from the hallway. Hearing none, he grabbed his keys from the coffee table and the bat from in between the cushions.
He also had a few bats by the door. But those were the big-bats meant for big-bad guys anyways.
Looking through the peep-hole his anxiety quickly fell away into relief mixed with minor confusion.
”Lassie?” He began, the question quickly falling from his lips as he opened the door.
”Oh, Spencer. Good. I- was afraid you might not be home.”
”well I for one, always try to get home every night.” Shawn paused and pushed Lassiter into the hallway. Lydia didn’t need to be woken up if things got loud. They both shuffled to stand in front of Shawn’s apartment door. Thankful they were inside. Shawn was also thankful he grabbed his Keyes from the coffee table. Habit formed from grabbing mail or speaking with neighbors.
“So, what are you doing here?” Shawn questioned. Raising an eyebrow.”
“I wanted to thank you. For the. Well, for the other night. I know it was you who took me home from the bar. And I’m not quite sure how you did it. But I appreciate you.”
”oh. Well. Yeah. I wasn’t going to just leave you there. For all of you hating me, I do actually like you, Lassiter. And I don’t want you to go through extra trouble. Sorry about your car. I don’t know how to drive two cars at once.”
”you have a car?”
”I do. I usually take my bike or ride with Gus. But I put her to good use too. She’s a little green bmw. This psychic has been helping with cases since before 2005. They gave me offered me of the cars out of impound. Weird thing was, some guy died in it. And usually, if I do have a car, the story is much worse.”
”why does you having a car surprise me? But not that it’s a murderer’s car?”
”no, he had a seizure. Nobody knew what to do with the car. Or the other few things inside of it. But i didn’t want to take the car. I’ve got my own now. They offered it to me. But that’s not how I wanted to start..” Shawn blinked. Thinking of Lydia. The screaming baby girl he had found inside of the car that was pulled over on the side of the road. Of course he had called the police right away.
But even since before she was his, that little girl had been his priority.
”I’m very responsible Lassie.” Shawn smiled. “And also very tired. Now please excuse me.” He let himself back into the apartment. Not waiting around to listen for leaving footsteps.

Mockingbird 🪶
Chapter 1: Greater Honeyguide.
Summary:
Shawn’s knee is killing him. But he’s still got a little bit of room to run around.
Notes:
This one begins right after spelling Bee. Nobody finds out about our sweet girl just yet, but I’m sure they’ll love her just as much as you.
A huff of laughter escapes his lips as his eyes wander, following the little mess left out on the floor. It was getting later by the second. And Lydia Adaline Suen-Spencer —or as he typically called her; Lydia Suence— knew it. But she just grinned wider. Her little teeth bright in the dim lighting. Dimples deep like pools. Her eyes were probably the bluest things Shawn had ever seen. Even more blue than Detective Lassiter, who he was quickly getting used to. Her gorgeous eyes were Dark like sapphire caves. They reflected everything she saw. And she saw a lot.
Even at just four years old, she seems to have adopted Shawn’s ability to memorize things. It wasn’t his memory. Or his gift. His little Lydia has no blood relation to him. Neither of them had any idea who her father and mother were. -Well, not at least what they were like as people. Or their memories for that matter.
But she was his.
Lydia continued to dance around the kitchen while Shawn carefully stood himself up from the floor. Using the arm of the couch to help him up. The red fibers darkening under the pull of his nails. He wold worry about this mess some other time.
”Daddy! C’mon! You p-promised you and me would do dancing.”
“You and I, Birdy.” Shawn gently corrected. Her speech patterns were already so advanced. She was so smart. And he wanted to push her to be her best. If that meant working on grammar, and indulging in her hyperfixation with birds, than so be it.
She never knew half of what she was saying. And that was the most adorable part. Sometimes Shawn would have to play a bit of toddler-translator for the babysitters, but as long as you kept the National Geographic channel playing, and made sure there was plenty of peanut butter and pop-tarts; she really wasn’t a difficult kid. Shawn had heard plenty of stories of what made a difficult kid. But Shawn will always love her, no matter how she ‘turns out’.
Shawn changed the channel on the tv, watching for Ly’s reaction. She was staring past him wide eyed. Giggles exploding from her mouth as the Cheshire grin on her face only grew bigger. She shook her head in glee, jet black waves that she refused to let him cut pulled into low pigtails. Noticing no argument, he finally put it on MTV.
Lydia jumped up and down as she saw the familiar screen. “Dance Daddy! Dance! Dance Dance Dance Daddy!” she squealed.
Shawn just gave a small smile. “After we dance, you have to promise Daddy to help him clean up all your toys. And then we can get your teeth brushed.” Lydia gave a pout. “I’ll keep the music on.”
“okay!” She agreed quickly. “I dance faster than daddy!” her shouts were giving him a bit of a headache. But it had been a long day. It wasn’t her fault. It was just things piling on top of each other. Like his leg. And having been to a hospital today because of his leg. People driving him off the damn road!- he needed to calm down. Lydia wouldn’t know why he was making angry faces. She would just think they were angry-at-Lydia faces. Can’t have that. “of course you can, Cherry-cake. But remember. Daddy has an owie. So when my owie is all gone, I’ll definitely be a faster dancer than you!” he crouched carefully to tickle the already shimmying little girl. Getting her up into his arms and rocking her.
They both just swayed and sang along to the song, though Lydia didn’t quite know all the words just yet. Smiles on their faces.
For those who had a chance to be outside and looking in, they saw a warm glow in a small living room. A red couch and a tv playing something. Father and daughter dancing just behind the couch. Wiggling and spinning around.

//MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS - HERE IS THE ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM OF FINDING THAT RIGHT WORD!!!!!
I’ve reblogged it before, and I’ll reblog it again
Found it deep down in my favorites and thought that could be helpful :)
I want to marry this list. ❤️
HA. Took a while to find this in my likes. Reblogging because currently EDITING.
I’m Thinking…
of starting to put some of my posts that I do over on AO3 onto here. Just a few.
but you can check out the above link if you’re curious. Things are mostly 1shots and WIPs at this point.
If you ever have a request, a suggestion, or a prompt. Find this post again and leave it with me. Communications work better here sometimes.
Me watching for who might come on over.
an abstract theory
warning. Flashy image. Images pulled from Google.
Okay so. It’s totally possible he’ll find this. No idea. But I have a good friend who is just as into TADC as I am. And since the newest episode [8/9] just came out a day ago, I shared a theory with him.
I’ve never shared a theory about tadc before. Mostly because I’m afraid of any backlash or criticisms. Because honestly, especially with one episode left: it’s just scary. But I really wanted to get this out there before the next episode. So at least I can say I got something right if I do.
I LOVE the latest episode. The voice acting. The music. The blatant drop of having no mouth but the need to scream. And everything. And it’s really helped me to further develop a theory I’ve had. Most of this theory is purely just theory. But I’ve had some deep thoughts about this anyways. My bullet-pointed post below may not be super clear or linear. And some of that is just because I wish to keep my friends side of the conversation private.
Alright… so. Abstractions. And obviously how we now know that once someone abstracts, they’re gone. And it’s apparently the one thing Caine CAN’T control (completely). How he just dumps them into a pit, a void, that they can’t get out of. And because we know Caine can control like everything else; this is really interesting.
Well, I’m kinda thinking that maybe even with all the eyes we have seen in the abstraction pit, there’s an answer inside of there somewhere.
Like, we also know that somehow.. the programmers got involved with the AI and even a few became part of it. At least we know that NOW. We even talked about Scratch!
which is a legit programming tool thing. I don’t know much about programming..
Scratch is a word, and a name, that feels so foreboding. So full of despair. And Kinger can’t remember half of the guys theories (cause maybe genius and maybe tumor-)
PLUS: Abstraction and Scratch share half of the same letters! Like, that part might be a stretch. But it’s fun that way to me.
Anyways. The pit is full of darkness and eyes and glitches. All things never to be seen again once the portal opens up.
And as we know, portals are important to Caine. And abstractions are the one thing both sides, however different, want to avoid. which makes me really really curious!
How with Kinger being the only one left, Caine not in the know if ‘more players can join the game’ and how Ragatha actually came along next. It’s so curious!
you'd think she would know a bit more about him. But I guess not..
Anyways. Back on track. Caine cannot bring people back from abstraction. It’s a thing that only happens to the players. Though it looked like it almost happened to Caine.
extra curious again!!
But if Caine can’t bring them back.., well?
does this mean they can’t get out? Or are they out-out.
Like, to hack things up a bit. Darkness and Eyes are so very very important through the show. And with one episode left, we all want to know if there will be a satisfying ending or not. Do they escape? Can they get back?
But here’s a few instances in which we can tell just how important the darkness is.
1. We know Kinger becomes more sane and more human in the dark. Which is super super interesting. Because Caine, as AI, shouldn’t be able to understand emotions. Yet he toys with the ‘players’ so much! Like, get it together man. Or you’ll be alone. And with Kinger being more human in darkness, we realize, or at least I did, that the characters slowly got more relatable when they were more panicked or glum or sad. And these are their negative —their darker— emotions. And that clearly has something to do with it. They become more human when emotionally darker. And certain characters when they’re in darkness feel more alive.
2. The brightness seems to take those details away however. Things are worse in the bright. Like with Humming in the basement? It was chill. But everyone else was fighting for their lives out in the open sun. And when Pomni gets sent to that staticky nowhere-void{?} (need to rewatch).. how her eyes just kinda, seemed to stop seeing. She definitely wasn’t herself. And that was in a massive glitching pool of light. So… what’s going on here??
3. and here’s where it’s sorta a stretch… but when Caine says “let’s get out of here before the moon gets frisky” it feels like it’s specifically calling out just how important darkness and night and shadows are in TADC. The darkness wants attention. But it never gets it.
I swear that there’s a truth hiding in there somewhere!!
Oh, and the worm-lady with all her funny shape-shaped children. That she named. They live in a cave. Or darkness and glowy things. Obviously there’s something careful and watchful about the dark.
Caine never quite seems to know what’s going on in these moments exactly either.
But on the topic of seeing…
eyes are also very very important.
The headset. That’s how they got in!! Holy heck! It’s all about screws and tricking the mind with what is seen. That’s how they’re trapped.
Then with the abstractions; being covered in eyes? Why would glitching darkness need eyes?! What do they see down there in the void?
what answers lay, waiting, in the shadows?
I truly believe that the darkness is the way out. Why would it be so important otherwise? What purpose does it have if they don’t actually need to sleep either. And almost all the adventures take place in bright light. Other than that one starry night. And the theater.
but both those had truths in them somewhere.
Just… think about it. I guess.

Shadison: Shawn Spencer x Madison Oakley.
ship pairing and au: a t4t au with Shawn Spencer x tmOC. This is also a special Hanahaki inspired au where everyone coughs or grows flowers from their bodies that represent an overwhelm of sudden strong emotions and it’s like the body’s way of getting rid of germs.

New bot spamming?

I’ve tried using translating sites, Google itself, and even comparing it to other fonts like Wingdings. But there’s been nothing.

What I love about this is that they’re all the same referee. That is legendary NFL referee Ed Hochuli, known for his detailed explanations of penalties and hilarious one-liners. His calls were never questioned, partly due to his easy to follow explanations, partly because of his MASSIVE guns. Look up some of his calls on YouTube, guy is a master of his craft.
I need to show this to my old English teacher. He would love it!
