By the way: please note that if you go look up the actual news story, that’s $22.2 billion US dollars a year… for the entire world. Not “the US must spend $22.2 billion” but “all the countries in the world, put together, would need to spend $22.2 billion US dollars”.
Disney’s Pencil Test for Frozen (2013)
I don’t think Disney is aware that their movies look so much better in two dimensions
That comment reminds me of another comment for which I can’t recall the source; paraphrased, “The best CGI now will always look outdated ten years from now, but awesome drawings will always look like awesome drawings.”
Also it was…not the best CGI
The thing I hate most about Disney not doing 2D anymore is that the box office disappointment of Winnie the Pooh (2011) (which is adorable and hilarious btw if you’ve never seen it) is often pointed to as the final nail in the coffin
Y’all released a 1 hr and 9 minute cutesy collection of Pooh Bear short stories about trying to find Eeyore’s lost tail on the SAME DAY AS THE FINAL HARRY POTTER FILM, of course it didn’t do well
AND y’all went up against YOURSELVES because Cars 2 had just opened like three weeks before and was very much still in theaters
It was not the animation, it was never the animation
I think this was an issue for The Princess and the Frog too. Not only did it come out the same month as the 2nd Chipmunk movie (which is trash but it made double what TPATF did).
You remember what came out literally one week after it?
Avatar. It went up against what was the highest grossing film of all time (until Endgame). They played themselves.
Don’t forget how Disney released one of their last 2D animated films of the era Treasure Planet on the same day as the first Harry Potter film and refused to delay the release even though they knew they would have made more money. They purposefully sabotaged their 2D animated films.
So lemme get this straight
They’re telling me how many kids they think will potentially die based on corona statistics where children were not going to school during any of the heights of corona because it wasn’t safe … and now we’re at levels worse than we’ve ever seen …
and then they want to say it wont overwhelm hospitals that’re already overwhelmed to a point where people with chronic severe illnesses, pregnant people, etc. are dying because they can’t gain access to legitimate medical care.
And they want to cut federal funding to schools who don’t open, schools that are primarily funded by the value of the property around the school … meaning the richer the area the longer the school can stay closed … meaning the poorer schools have to open
meaning they’re forcing open schools who can’t afford paper and printer ink and sending them there with no real protection, no real PPE for teachers, students, or staff, schools that can’t even afford clean drinking water for their children …
And they think these kids wont get sick en masse, get their parents sick en masse, get the schools staff sick en masse, in areas where again the hospitals are already overwhelmed to a point where disabled people, people with chronic illnesses, and people who need their health monitored are already dying en masse and they want to throw more corona cases at the fire
And they don’t want me to call that genocide?
This is genocide by biological warfare, it’s not that fucking hard to see.
I, uh. Went viral on Twitter
As a matter of fact, if your employer fires you for anything relating to forming a union, that's retalition, and it's illegal under federal law. If this happens to you, vontact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

I had someone call the cops on me for riding my bike in an area they “hadn’t seen me in” before (I’ve biked there for the last few weeks). I’m a black woman, alone and on the phone catching up with my mom and a cop pulled up and asked me if I was okay, and I’m just confused as to why he’s even here. He explained someone wasn’t sure why I was here or if I was in distress. And he asked where I lived and I gave him everything so politely until he went on his way and I’m like… Why? That was a waste of a call to him and you put me in fear. The wrong cop and he could have easily escalated that considering there were no bystanders.
It doesn’t even matter if nothing comes of the situation because SOMETHING COULD. I still went home and cried in my room because even my roommates didn’t understand my fear in that moment.
Do not call them if you could assess the situation yourself.
body positivity has largely failed because people started arguing for attractiveness and romantic prospects instead of respect and dignity
this is truly the best summary of what all of this SHOULD be about
Since I put Ignis’ glasses on Rufus, I thought it was only fair to put Rufus’ hair on Ignis. Special thanks to @nightyswolf for help with the hair transplant!
I tried recreating the hat tip pose as seen in Nomura’s Dissidia NT art for Ardyn (the smile was considerably creepier in the art so I did tone that down haha)
“we’re ruining the planet” i’m sorry who is this we i don’t recall myself running a billion dollar oil business
She had third degree burns on her genitals, needed a skin graft to repair the damage and was permanently disfigured, and left disabled for two years. Part of her original $20,000 claim was for her daughter's lost income while she cared for her. Also, there were 700 previous complaints of people being burned by McDonald's coffee, which they quietly paid off. They offered Liebeck $800.
Stella Liebeck was 79 years old at the time of the incident, and the settlement helped her pay for a live-in nurse as she was partially disabled for two full years after being so badly burned she went into shock. She passed away in 2004 with little to no quality of life per her own daughter. She originally sought $20,000 dollars to cover her eight day hospital stay (including skin graphs) and compensation for her daughter's lost wages after she spent three weeks providing round-the-clock care.
Incidently, liquids served at 190 degrees is capable of causing third degree burns--which cause severe, permanent damage all the way to the muscle layer--within 3 seconds of contact with human skin. If you have a strong stomach, you can even find photographic evidence of her wounds with a quick google search. This didn't stop almost every major news outlet perpetuating MacDonald's coordinated smear campaign against her. MacDonalds' justification for this was basically, well, all fast food is hot and we have better things to worry about. Literally. This deliberately manufactured overly litigious gold digger stereotype is still remembered today via the Stella Awards, which mocks all the "frivolous" lawsuits against your favorite brands. Named after a little old lady who was permanently disfigured and handicapped from a ridiculously dangerous product.
Classy.
Never, ever take a corporation's side over a private citizen when lawsuits are involved.
She eventually died under the care of a live-in nurse from infection complications due to the fact that the damage had to be treated repeatedly over multiple years. While being mocked *worldwide* and constantly hassled by the media. The last few years of this woman's life were a miserable hell because McDonald's was too cheap to pay her medical costs when she asked.
This campaign defies censorship in social media to raise awareness for early detection of breast cancer
this is actually super fucking smartass of them
Reblogging as this is so important everyone! My mum had breast cancer and that shit is not nice so please check yourself ladies and gents! 💕💕💕
Thank you Henry 💗
Our apologies
ann m martin, the author of the books, is an out lesbian. many of the writers and directors involved with the netflix series are black, asian, and latin women. they did their homework, cast a young trans girl to play a young trans girl, and included multiple gay children and gay parents. mary anne and dawn are both played by actresses of colour.
AND the series is smart and funny and very watchable for all ages—i tend to not really watch new shows aimed at a younger audience, but i watched all of season 1 in one day. it’s rated at 100% on rotten tomatoes right now, and that rating is well deserved.
anyways stream baby-sitters club s1 on netflix
please listen to this poor man losing his shit as he reads an article blaming millenials for killing the mayonnaise industry that was written by a babyboomer upset people don’t want to eat her bland salads anymore
PLEASE TURN THE SOUND ON
OH MY GOD
So I told one of my managers yesterday that I would be needing time of work this Tuesday to go and vote because I didn’t realize I was scheduled for a long shift and won’t be off before the polls close.
She then proceeds to ask me why I couldn’t early vote.
I tell her that I guess I could have but I didn’t and the option was now closed and my next and last chance is Tuesday.
Cue her giving me a hard time for not early voting.
I politely tell her that I didn’t so I’ll be requiring time off on Tuesday.
Her response?
“I mean we’ll try to get you out.”
Umm no.
I say - “Legally the law requires that you allow me time off work to go vote.”
Her response?
“Yes, I mean legally it does.”
Yes bitch, legally! As in the law! As in it is my right!
So whatever, I leave her office with a bad taste in my mouth and run into a coworker (who’s worked there as long as I’ve been alive), and I tell her about what happened.
She goes OFF, tells me I better make sure they let me go vote Tuesday and that if they try to fight me on it to tell them to look in their files for the law that she printed off for them years ago stating my right to do so.
So she leaves and I feel a bit better but just for shits and giggles I decide to look up the law for Tennessee voting rights (I knew it was a law that they have to let you off but I didn’t know the exact parameters.)
You know what Tennessee law says?
Up to three hours PAID time to go vote, (and my dumb ass was planning on clocking out.)
You best believe that if someone tries to argue with me Tuesday I’ll be slapping down a copy of that law and my ACLU membership card, I’m pretty sure they don’t want to be hearing from those lawyers.
If anyone else needs information about voting rights in their state:
Information about State Laws on Voting Rights/Time Off to Vote provided by job and employee rights advocacy organization Workplace Fairness.
And just an FYI: most states require you to let your employer know that you’ll be taking time off to vote the day before you plan on doing it
Oh god, its happening soon
