Do you think Petyr will get more protagonism in the three episodes? That will something amazing happen? He has barely appeared in the previous episodes. Maybe his arc development has been reserved for the end of the season. I love your blog and your fics smaragaide :)

Oh boy… after watching this episode tonight. I don’t think so. D&D are just looking for a way to have Arya/Sansa kill him off. The scheme is stupid and doesn’t serve him. Even worse, it’s so idiotic it’s something he would have sniffed out as ridiculous or used against his opponents Season 1-4. That’s what dumbing his character down has done.
I mean we got to see him being all sneaky and smart…but the ploy is dumb. I guess I was just happy to see him doing something OTHER than moping and following Sansa around. THAT’s real Littlefinger. He’s working on his own to make shit happen. We got to see that in this episode and it was great. Plus, he turned the tables on Arya who totally thought she was spying on him, not being led by the nose to discover what he wanted her to discover.
This is the Littlefinger I’ve been missing for SEASONS. It’s been all down hill since that epic scene of him pushing Lysa out the Moon Door.
Now if the plot had been something worthy of LF, then great, but this is beyond stupid pitting Sansa and Arya against each other. It’s not worth the risk he’s taking. It doesn’t really gain him much either. He just had to wait it out until Jon returned and Sansa sees that she is on the outs because Arya and Jon adore each other. Second, it’s going to come out that Jon is not only a Targaryen BUT the real heir to the Iron Throne.
That is NOT going to sit well with many northern lords. They didn’t like him going to meet Dany. Once word travels that she burnt he shit out of the Lannisters and Tarleys… they don’t want another Targaryen on the throne and it will seem super fishy that he was all ready to go meet with Dany no matter what anyone said.
Seriously, all Baelish had to do was be his normal self, be patient, calculating and wait for the right moment to strike. Now is not the time to be risky considering his relationship with Sansa. He needs to be like S1 LF and play loyal and give her good advice. When all this shit come out, he can pull the “I told you so… I tried to tell you” . But this stupid idea to get them to fight and risk being found out as the instigator is so fucking dumb it hurts my brain.
D&D want him dead and this is their continuing of dumbing down his character to make it feasible.
