He had perhaps seen this coming.. more so than he thought originally. The one that came within inches of finally extinguishing the flame kept so long. Perhaps destiny itself tied in to this.

“You, again….” It was probably just a matter of wrong place, wrong time. Unless the world had seen it differently. Hostility, aggression, emotions which aptly summed his reaction, though restrained so as not to make a move so foolish that whatever fight may come will end shortly.

“Tell me, have you sought this, or is it just fate’s gentle push guiding us to unfinished business?”

Raoh sneers under his helmet. Lowlifes had the tendency to assume so much out of him, men like James often blur together in the king’s memory after years roaming the world. “I had been preoccupied with more important matters as King than to worry about the life of a single knight. There are dozens of other soldiers I could take up that would have been much easier to coerce than you.”

“However, I have a responsibility to clean up my own messes. If the Heavens willed that day to be today, then so be it.” The conquer reveals his face as he dismounts his steed, annoyance masking his features. A stain on his reputation, a splinter on his side that had been put off. Knuckles crack.
