i'm sure this question has been asked a billion times so feel free to redirect me, but how do i use a theme? i have no coding experience and i'm having trouble with pastebin? is there like a step-by-step instruction manual somewhere? thanks so much!!

hi! i’ve actually made a few navigation pages, but they’re not completely ready for release, but i’ve been really busy working on a bigger project and don’t really have time for tumblr these days. it doesn’t mean that i’ll completely stop making tumblr themes, but i can’t say there will be anything released soon.

hey guys

how is everyone? i know it’s been a while since i’ve released something and i also haven’t really been reblogging any content either. i’ve been really busy with school, but i do have more time now because quarantine and school is coming to a close. i had something that i had been working on for a while and i was really excited to release it, but yesterday, i opened the code and a third of the code just disappeared? so the wait will have to be a little longer. i’ll get back to working on it after i finish this website i’m working on for something else. stay safe everyone!

theme eight: dahlia — twitter-inspired theme, as requested by an anon, with an optional popup that can be fully edited from the customization panel.

preview / code: pastebin, github

features and options:

optional header image and optional profile image. header image width is whichever post size you choose + 100px, profile image is 125px x 125px and can be square or circular.

header has space for up to three custom links and three statistics. if you want to change the statistics icons, go to feathericons, find the name of the icon you want, and input the icon name into the customize panel.

optional popup: this can be fully customized from the customization panel. has space for you to add extra text and add up to six custom links. also has space for you to put up three sideblogs and a section for you to add up to three updates. make sure you enable it in the customize panel if you want to use it!

post sizes: 400px, 450px, 500px, 540px, 600px.

captions can be displayed on top or above posts, or you can choose to hide captions on index. 

customizable photoset gutter

option to hide tags

font sizes from 12px to 16px and nine different font options

all colours customizable

notes: tumblr’s customize page is very buggy and when you first install the theme, you have to toggle the options on and off to get them to work properly. if something doesn’t look right or the post captions disappear, save and exit because 99% of the time it will look fine on your blog.

how does one put the stats in a blog and how do these work? i dont understand lol i feel so dumb im sorry

go to freehostedscripts.net! click on online users counter for the code for the users currently on your blog/page, and text hit counter for the total views. on my themes (except i still only have... one), put the first code in “online” and the second code in “views” in the customization bar

theme six: holly — header/sidebar theme as requested by an anon. you can choose either a header or a sidebar on the index page, and you can choose one or multiple columns.

previews: header with grid, sidebar with one column, permalink / code: pastebin, github

features and options:

responsive 

header or sidebar on index page. sidebar on permalink page. if you pick sidebar on index, it will show as a header on tablets and mobile devices.

post sizes: 250px, 275px, 300px, 350px, 400px, 450px, 500px, 540px

show/hide/hover tags, show/hide captions on index, show/hide note count on index, show/hover like and reblog buttons

note: tumblr’s customize page is buggy as hell. i recommend switching all the options on and off when you first install the theme, and then save and exit. even if something doesn’t look right on the customize page, it should look fine on your actual blog.

hello rachel! i’m currently using your aphrodite theme and can i just say it’s absolutely GORGEOUS. i do have one question however. is there any way that the pagination could be moved to be directly under the links in the sidebar, or no? i’ve been trying to do it on my own, but all i’ve been doing is screwing it up. thank you and i hope you’ve been having a great new years! x

and move it to under sidebar links endi recommend adding some space between the links and pagination button, so you can find .pag and add margin-top:7px; there

hi ! i'm trying to use your theme ' blueberry ' and i don't know if the link is bad or anything but i keep getting a blank screen and the tab title just showing ' redirecting . . . ' and it just won't load. this might seem really dumb but, do you know how to fix it somehow ? i honestly think that the link might be bad and it just doesn't wanna work . .

hi i used your aphrodite theme but i can't seem to turn off the links option as it is already off in default but it's still there, trying to turn it on & off again doesn't work, is this intentional?

Hi! I'm the anon with the nav links problem! I've installed it on this blog (and it's easily one of the best themes I've ever used on this, seriously) and as you can see, they open in a new tab instead of in the same one. If there's a solution to this or to the line-height problem I told you about on anon, I would love it, and if you don't find any solution to fix any issues, thanks for taking a look at the code anyways!

i tried the links on your blog and they don’t open in a new tab for me? and like i said, the line height is meant to be like that.

Hi! I'm the same anon that asked about the scroll to top button, thank you so much! I installed the theme on my blog and something weird happens with the line-height on posts: when the blog is done loading, it seems like the line-height is smaller than the one that's in the code a few seconds after I open the blog, is that normal? Also, are the navigation links meant to open in a different tab? English isn't my first language, so I hope this message makes sense!

yes, the line height is supposed to be like that. and about the navigation links... no? i’m not sure what you mean - not because of your english (which is great, btw!), but they shouldn’t open in a new tab. i would be able to provide better assistance if you gave me a link to the problem x
