Dr. Gears headcanons — based on pancakes experience.
Yep, shitpost time. Long story short, my brain got severe heat damage after being forced to stay at the stove with the stuff I have 0 cooking skills with and so yeah, I spent the time thinking of Gears and stuff he does, kinda.
First of all, this is just about how I see Gears' mental image-
- An uneven, crumpled beaten up thin pancake that looks like it has been stepped on about a hundred times if not more. Normally these things are consumed with severe grain of garnishes or jams or whatever, but this exact guy is just empty. Absolutely tasteless empty-caloried kind of thing that can stave off your hunger for a while but not eradicate it all together. Soft bread, basically. Might do well with coffee but otherwise his abilities are extremely limited.
Sure, if you look at this pancake closer, you might start feeling like you're observing the surface of the planet Mars, but you can never be sure of how truthful this impression actually is because that's how our lad is, never giving his quirks away.
Second headcanon is about Gears' own skills in cooking, and that is — if that guy ever tries to shape his pancakes/omelettes/fried eggs/pastries/whatever as a heart or anything of sorts to impress his wife or daughter — no matter what method he uses, it'll look either like it has been shot through a dozen of times, or as an actual anatomical heart. No in-between to it. His hand/eye coordination skills may apply well with shooting at stuff, but not with cooking it.
And the third thing I think of is that Charles genuinely sucks at making anything that contains dough. Dunno why. He just doesn't strike me as a baking guy. Even if Alison is a cute cinammon roll unless disturbed
But yeah, to conclude, Gears is an okay pancake when shoved into a group of other pancakes alike. Treat him as well as any other pancake and he'll respond just as nicely (please help me im genuinely teetering insane with being unable to create anything adequate so i create hellspawns of whatever weird ideas that randomly manifest at worst days possible just why).
It's sorta too late for Pancake Tuesday, but tis' better than never, I suppose.
