This one gonna have a Quickie and a Play by Play summary
Ch 10 Timeline Quickie ||Ch 10, Flat Spin:
It is the cultural conference day and || everyone is nervous. There's a sus white Eridian that makes inappropriate comments at Grace/Simon. Grace is assaulted by the white Eridian. Thankfully, Simon and a blue Eridian intervene. Once home, Grace loses his fuckin’ shit.
Overview: Grace lashes out at Simon. Simon refuses to leave Grace in such a ugly state so they get physical (fight). Of course, Grace cannot overpower Simon so he attacks Simon verbally: part of it is panicky apologies and part of it is spiteful panic.
But ultimately, he apologizes to Simon in a really manic way. Then, mood swings and makes Simon so uncomfortable Simon leaves (Grace makes some really good points during this fight though. He calls out Simon's toxic masculinity which kind of has created an unhealthy power dynamic around their sex life).
Still it's way too much, way too quick, and delivered in the worst way possible, at the worst time possible.||

Part 1 : || Lights, Rocky is a nosy bitch asking about mating. Simon seems to think he owes Grace sex for the lamps, but Grace is completely oblivious to it.
Rubber band, Grace is a really charismatic tour guide (his internal dialogue reveals that he is actually very focused on making this work for Simon's sake).
A marble colored eridian makes some really concerning comments about Grace's relationship with Rocky, saying it's good he didn't do anything improper with Rocky because it would fuck up his family. YK? Like it would ruin Rocky’s relationship with Adrian and Rocky's reputation if Grace had interspecies sex with Rock… I agree with Grace, Eww (Sorry Grocky! Grocky not welcome in this context)! Temptations (Is Rocky a HUNK by Eridian standards?) (Short ass Rocky--A hunk?!) (Idk, maybe Adrian goes for ugly guys)?!
Honestly, it's quite depraved. There's also this other problem: The white Eridian keeps using his height advantage to kind of tower over Grace… It's just really uncomfortable.
||Simon intervenes and it looks like the situation is about to deescalate until the Eridian speaks again (This bitch doing this on purpose!). This time, it suggests filming pornographic material of Grace and Simon. This really rattles Simon. Grace has to make him chill out. Later 👀 (Damn, Simon that PDA is not what you think it's Abt, baby!)
During the tour, Simon finally allows Grace into the greenhouse.
We get the first ever Simon POV!||
Ch 10, Play by play- Part 2 ||While Simon speaks to the Eridian audience, Grace separates and is accosted and assaulted by the white perv Eridian During the assault, the Eridian proposes changing Grace's body to allow him to procreate with Simon. Yikes!
*Here is the mention of a fight in a workshop and I wonder if this is related to the mention that Simon broke Grace's ribs at some point in this story…
Simon takes Grace home and Grace is pretty out of it. Once home, Grace lashes out at Simon: He tells Simon he doesn’t like being with him. Grace tries to leave; Simon stops him. Grace bites him really hard. Grace is flips out, kissing and licking Simon only to further freak out by his own actions. Yeah, no, Grace is not doing well. Simon decides to insult Grace here bc, ofc :( (Maybe he doesn't mean to, but Grace is NOT “finally being honest” here)
Grace returns to trying to get Simon to leave. Bad Timing! Simon calls Grace by his first name, Ryland. Why would he do that? Could it be an attempt at a sweet gesture? But, ATST, come on, the name comes into play while Simon insinuates Grace couldn't beat him in a fight (Grace totes couldn't, but it's not nice to say so!) (Especially, not NOW)?!
Grace thinks Simon is retaliating for the medbay time. He has a bit of a breakdown apologizing for not knowing what to do with Simon then. Simon stands over Grace unsure what to do.
Grace lashes out AGAIN saying it must feel empowering to prevent him from leaving! He calls out their concerning power dynamic.||
|| How Simon’s toxic masculinity BS has their sex life unbalanced (yeah, the couch thing was hot but…)
Simon leaves soon after. Grace doesn't even know when bc he was rambling so hard. It was at some point after he called out the power dynamic thing.||
