There’s been a big spike in people having strokes, even young people who would normally be at almost no risk for something like that, who when tested turned out to have very mild or asymptomatic cases of COVID. And a lot of reports of the virus changing or destroying a person’s sense of taste or smell even when they’d fully recovered in every other way. Those together seem to indicate that this virus is having long term neurological effects that we don’t understand, on top of all the shit it does to your respiratory system.

Whatever it is that makes you want to take your mask off, it’s not worth risking permanent alterations to your brain.
