“Should’ve fuckin’ left you locked up,” Easton muttered, averting his gaze and turning away. His patience —as nonexistent as it already was— was truly being tested. The other male’s words only cut through his somber demeanor and agitated him so easily because they were true. He was well aware he’d destroyed so much in the past, and anytime someone reminded him how terrible of a person he was for it, he believed it. With Ford now freed, Easton was seconds away from leaving him be for good when he was halted by what the male had to say. Considering his words, Easton paused, gradually turning his attentions back to Ford. “I don’t know where you got it in your head that I was always running around, sweeping girls off their feet.” As clear and steady as he tried to keep his voice, it still wavered with emotion. “No one wanted anything real to do with me until Aurora. I might’ve fucked everything over for everyone, but I never woke up one morning and thought to steal girlfriends and ruin lives. I was just trying to be there for Freya when she needed someone. And honestly, I didn’t know what the fuck I was doing. I don’t feel anything anymore like the person I was a year ago. And yeah— It sucks; It fuckin’ sucks that Aurora, you, Belle, Freya… all of you got stuck in it. But I’m still here, yeah? I never stopped caring about anyone.” Even Aurora, in some ways. Heavily sighing, his gaze fixed on the ground and fidgeting hands shoved into his pockets as he pondered the offer… He’d been in agreement with Freya that it wasn’t fair to anyone to see Belle, but it wasn’t uncharacteristic for Easton to do the things that were supposedly ‘bad’ for him. Right now, in this moment, seeing her seemed harmless. So with a small nod, he agreed to wait for Belle. “Yeah… Don’t mention it.”
“Probably,” Ford uttered, eyes downcast as Easton started to move away. Guilt rising in his chest at his own words, but all the pent up emotion of never having it out with Easton was boiling in him, it had been a long winded conversation that needed to be had in his mind, after all the only person he really had to talk to about it all when it happened was Aurora. He hadn’t really seen the other male since everything went down, maybe in passing but they had no real conversation and it seemed to have boiled over in anger of the past and never really talking about it. “I don’t know, you seem like the guy who would do things-- but we all know I’m massively wrong about people’s characters to begin with, so you can hold that against me,” Ford stated, shoving his hands in his pockets, looking down. “I just-- I don’t understand what happened is all, I was her boyfriend and I should of been there to talk too if she needed someone at the end of it all, it ruined me for a long time because I didn’t feel good enough for anyone and I don’t know what happened, obviously I’ll never know. We both have our sides to the story and getting a straight answer out of anyone is hard enough. And maybe-- we’ve both changed from it all. Still here-- yeah, we’re all still here, and moving on from it in some ways. Care? It’s good to hear you still care in some ways, and no matter what it turned out okay. Rowling, and Aurora’s got a great guy, and is at the top of her class, she’s been offered an opportunity to study in fucking London or Egypt but she’s refusing to take it-- scared to leave Belle for four months... but it all turned out okay,” Ford stated softly. Nodding to the garage. “Okay-- this way, I know Aurora has no issue with it, I’ve talked her into it so Belle has some stability and faces she knows, I don’t want her growing up with abandonment issues and Aurora agrees,” walking into the garage he opened up the door that lead to the kitchen, letting Easton in, spotting Belle’s shoes by the basement door. “She’s downstairs, I’ll go get her, I’m sure she wants to read you one of her stories or color.”
