✦ KIANA MADEIRA, CISFEMALE, SHE/HER✦ MONROE OLIVEIRA the TWENTY-SEVEN year old has been in Hidehill for TEN YEARS and was a STRANGER to Jade Parker, the missing first murder victim. Whispers on the streets are that the DJ AT CLUB ENVY who lives in HADLEY PARK. SHE IS said to be RELENTLESS and STUBBORN but I guess we’ll find out for ourselves.
tw: pregnancy, death, car accident, substance abuse, overdose
monroe eilam oliveira was born on the 27th of june, 1995. at first glance, it was expected like the usual thing everyone can just imagine. mother gives birth, father carries their little angel for the first time, and then gives her to her exhausted mother, with them looking at her like she was the whole wide world. monroe didn’t have any of that. as soon as she was born, both of her parents disappeared into thin air. the little oliveira stayed in the hospital for days until she was eventually picked up by her uncle, who seemed to not give a care about her either.
before she even became a dj, monroe grew up in florida and was a delinquent, often stealing whatever she could, petty theft, but mostly she was just around shoplifting, and usually she just keeps them to herself, only selling them whenever she runs out of cash, to buy all the essentials she needs. only a few numbers of times she’s caught, her uncle always picking her up from the precinct. a couple of lectures here and there from him and the people at the precinct who already knew her, and then she’d forget about it and move on, just distracted of what she’ll do next while she’s in class. that’s how her first high school usually went down for her. she never really met her parents and has lived under her uncle’s wing, and the man doesn’t care about her either, as long as they don’t get on each other’s business, they’re all good. he did care about her education though, being the one to fund her tuition and everything in high school while she lives off her little earnings from the petty theft.
she had always struggled in school, it wasn’t because she was foolish, she’s clever, if her teachers were to describe her, but monroe just didn’t have the people to guide her. “she didn’t have parents, or a family, if you could say that.” during the second time she was on her junior year, the girl decided to go at least put her attention on her studies this time, coming with her other friends less and less just to be able to graduate this stupid hellhole people called high school already and just move on with her life, be able to do whatever she wants. these said friends took note of her being distant lately and just a week before her graduation, decided to corner her, not just for any other gig this time. they were going to steal a car, and pressured monroe to be on the wheel.
monroe is generally a relaxed type ofperson, but not this time. she hasn’t done anything major like this ever before, yet she was pressured by them. she knew she had to do it. she cut class early that day and met up with them and went down to this suburb for this lawyer’s sports car parked by his house. and of course, it may sound like a joke, but just like the movies, things didn’t go according to their plan.
there were a couple of miscalculations of movements, they didn’t monitor the lawyer’s schedule well that he was home when they decided to hot wire his car and quickly drove off. she had one thing in mind as they were running, and that was to be able to escape to get this over with, and they did succeed with that. or just so they thought.
monroe and her friends were picked by the police right after junior year ended and were interrogated for hours. the car was recovered, and fortunately for her, she was let off by the owner, convinced with her story that she was just pressured into stealing his car. but not her uncle though. he decided to have her stay at hidehill, lie low after that stunt she pulled, because she put trouble into their name and more importantly, his business.
she continued her studies at hidehill and eventually she meets and falls in love with chase williams, regardless on how from a wide-eyed view they were on different ends of the spectrum, that didn’t stop them to be in a relationship and in due course, when he had to go to notre dam to pursue his dreams, monroe went with him with no hesitation, not a care for what would her uncle say about their reputation. a little while upon arriving, that was when she got pregnant and perhaps believed that it was a new chapter of her life, a change she had been unknowingly searching for, a family, something she has genuinely never had before, with the man she will only ever love.
then again, life isn’t ever going to make monroe happy. she lost everything in a flash. as they were going home from the hospital, two days after the birth of their daughter, a drunk driver crashed their car into theirs, taking the life of their little girl, leaving the woman with emptiness that changed into hatred over time, hatred for chase that drifted them apart and had her packing her bags, leaving him and returning to hidehill, everyone not having a clue what happened between them and the fact that they had a daughter.
two years after her return from notre dam, monroe’s life has only been in a downward spiral as instead of acknowledging her issues, she also ran away from it, turned into the total darkness of the night life, her endless partying and drinking which also led her depending on the pills being handed to her by her so called friends, making her believe that it would make her forget, even just for the night, and boy she did, even the memories of hours before, her mind wouldn’t be able to grasp anymore. until another night of rampant partying and drowning herself on substances had her body almost give up on her. if it wasn’t for lunara, who came over that one morning, it’s just unimaginable what was going to happen to monroe.
after all of these events in her life, she has been living independently for the past couple of years as a dj at club envy. nothing much has changed (or as she would like to pretend for it to be), except the little music making on the side, and the frequent adventures whenever she’s not behind the booth.
