Today in my spiritual homeland of TnT it is Emancipation Day and after receiving my arthritis medicinal injection yesterday (3 weeks late), I finally feel as if I've been emancipated from weeks of pain myself. It's a difficult watch at times but worth the effort. While I feel there have been others who have gone on to more acclaim since I claimed Kano as being my fav grime artist some years ago, this video reminds me of exactly why I had made that choice.

In a mindset typical of most people who want to be dictators in a relationship, any resistance to complete capitulation is seen as a lack of commitment and an act of rebellion. Their feelings, fears and desires come first and any resistance to this notion is seen as an act of mutiny. Any suggestion that what they desire and want from the relationship be discussed as to how it will affect their partner isn't seen as necessary, their main worry probably being that actual discussion of the issue may lead to them not getting what they want. They automatically take their partners wish to discuss their voiced desires/fears as an attempt to negate them. As an attempted coup. In their mind, discussion can only be viewed as a gateway to the greatest tragedy: the possibilty of them not getting what they want. And for dictatorial partners (or family, or work associates, etc), that's a no-no. For these folks, the gamble of a discussion perhaps leading to EVERYBODY getting what they want out of the relationship just isn't worth the risk. "I don't want to debate what I asked for. I just want it done and then I'LL be happy. And if you truly love me, you will just do it". Yikes.

I love the fact that Toronto duo TRP.P made a track that's so musically laidback, lyrically aggressive and comes of as being so sweet. "All at the same time?" you ask. Yes. Yes, all at the same time. Hahaha!
