Jed winced at the throw of the keys, dodging it from hitting him then sighing, laying down to close his eyes for what seemed like minutes. However, he woke when he heard a knock on the door, walking over fast, believing it to be Daphne. Opening the door wide, Denzel ran in, the owner passing the dog back. Jed smiled, thanking her before returning to the spot on the couch.
He had finally managed to slip into some sort of sleep despite the pounding headache and dizziness that came with it. Hearing the dor open, he allowed his eyes to look around yet he didn’t move. A small smile grew as he listened to her.He tried to push himself up weakly, looking over to her and reaching a hand out to take the cookies but putting them down straight away and lying back down. “I never said I didn’t want you, Daphne.”Â
Daphne breathed a sigh of relief at his words. She sat down next to him, brushing her fingertips across his warm forehead. She noticed his obvious fatigue and frowned, "You should get some sleep." She murmured, concerned. She stood up from where he lay and wandered over to his kitchen to place some groceries she picked up in his refrigerator. After she was done with that task, she moved on to placing a turkey in the oven and mashing up some eggs with mayonnaise to create egg salad for the next day's breakfast. Daphne busied herself in the kitchen, careful not to make to much noise so Jed could rest.
