Shaking head and rolling her eyes even though they were closed, Meredith sighs. “Don’t eat that, hold on,” she sighs again, heavily so, as she pulls her legs off the table and pulls herself up from that couch, walking to the fridge to grab her lunch box, pulling out some hummus and veggies that she had not eaten at lunch, handing them to him. “You’re not getting to die on me, and I’m not going through your gut to take that cheese out myself, eat this instead.” And pulling out an even more disgusted facial expression now that she was closer, she shakes her head, adding, “And please, throw that cheese away, my gosh, it smells worse than a dead corpse.” Walking back to the couch, she crashes back in but this time sits back and crosses her legs, sighing. “I had an old lady come in for a bowel obstruction and turns out she has generalized cancer and is now not waking up, stuck on the respirator. She was the sweetest lady, so happy. She couldn’t wait to wake up to show me a picture of her grand-grand-daughter. I hate these cases.” She folds her arms over her chest, looking up at Alex, pouting.
Alex placed his head on the kitchen counter as Mer placed vegetables and hummus in front of him. Maneuvering his hand, he threw out the old cheese and just moaned. “Pizzzzzzzzza. I want pizzzzzzza” he kept mumbling this hoping that pizza would magically appear in front of his face. He kept quietly mumbling to himself, as Mer spoke about her case. He flopped his head so that he was facing her. “Gross, I hate those types of cases. I’m sorry, Mer. Should have been a simpler case, and of course the universe throws shit at ya today. I had shit thrown at me today as well. Dumb universe”. Alex dipped his pinky in the hummus before mumbling again. “Twins came in presenting fevers. Matching fevers, the both of them. One coded at 5PM today, died pretty quickly, and his brother coded exactly an hour after. fighting to keep him alive, while trying to diagnose the mystery. Still. no. answer”
