Every lender that we talked to before buying a house told us that they would be willing to lend, and that we could afford, a mortgage loan more than THREE TIMES our annual income. People are always recommending new cars, like you said.

Oh, and college and student loans.

So you start off going ~$50,000 into debt for an education, to work an entry level position (which required 3 years experience [like an unpaid internship]), to be told to “buy a car! you can totally afford it. while you’re at it, think about a house too?” next to a picture of some BMW and million-dollar home

Well it’s a recommendation… no one is forcing you. If you’re a student $20k in debt because you wanted a new Honda… that’s no one fault but your own.

So uhh today I was chastised by my sociology professor when I said that FGM and child marriage are inherently wrong and constitute human rights violations regardless of where/why they’re practiced. People can charge whatever the fuck they want for their work and people can choose whether or not they buy it because that’s how the free market works. If you think it’s too high then by all means, don’t buy it. But don’t be an asshole to them about it just because you feel entitled to their hard work. how is it overpriced? legitimate question. Art is a luxury. It’s not meant to be cheap. And looking at the quality of what i assume is the artist that is in question, i’d say its definitely worth it for it’s quality.

Okay, sex isn’t the sin. The sin is shaming anyone for ending up in a situation where they end up pregnant. I know this is imo, but a baby shouldn’t be a scare tactic to making people think smarter about sex. There are a LOT of contraception which can easily help if you’re being responsible, all without being mean to someone about it! I understand abortion is always a hot topic but you can be pro life and not shove your thoughts/opinions/beliefs down other peoples’ throats. I also know that in raising a kid, it’s not fucking easy at all. I don’t have kids, but I have had and seen a lot of single parents struggle. They wanted to keep their kid in spite of the circumstances. Hooray. But those who don’t decide to keep the kid should be appreciated as much as those who choose to keep a child. It’s not up to anyone but the person who has a baby in their belly.
