While filming an Eric scene his actor asked if what Eric was drinking contained alcohol. The director replied "No, it's juice, sugar-free, I think" to which he jokingly said "Great. Can I take this with my medication?"

He had an early stage cancer at that moment.

Did you know?

Not long after being cast as Eric, his actor had reportedly been diagnosed with stomach cancer. The director refused to replace him because he couldn't see anyone else playing the elven king. The actor suffered terrible pain in his chest while filming season 1, but he, too, refused to leave.
