Hugo looked rather upset as he walked out of Magical Menagerie after yet another talk with the owner, and into the crowded streets of Diagon Alley. âHello, good morning! Would you sign this petition?â Hugo asked hopefully to the first person who he came across. âI have been trying to get the store owners to make the store environment nicer for the animals in there, you know â make the place more spacious and livable. They just never listen. Someone has to do something!â

Having fallen victim to petitioning pickpockets for a large part of his life, one would think Doc wouldâve learned to be somewhat conservative with who he let pull him aside, but discernment had never been a strength of his. He wouldnât be getting any better at it today, since heâd already half signed this particular petition before even looking to see who was asking to do so.Â
âDâyou think theyâd notice if I put down a few other names, just to bulk up the cause? Iâll make the handwriting different and everything - â he said, finally looking up. âMerlin, Hugo! Itâs been - mate, I donât even know how long. Come here, then!â He pulled Hugo in for a hug, which was, in his haste, more bone-crushing than heâd intended.Â
