For the most part if you're on your own there's no real risk for illness. Use your shower/bath and keep the affected areas to yourself and spots that are easy to clean. Just make sure you scrub with soap and water and clean the surfaces with disinfectant from time to time, nothing too scary. Risk factors are low to nil so long as you don't leave anything to sit and fester.
When working with a partner it's somewhat the same, but it's still good practice to keep theirs out of your mouth just for safety. You also don't like, have to do that though lol. For the most part it's like sneezing or kissing. You're only going to get sick if they actually HAVE something for you to get sick by.
In terms of mouth stuff, rinse it all out, brush, and use an antibacterial mouthwash. It'll be pretty much fine. Despite how much everyone makes things out to be "The Ultimate Filth" and "The True Vector Of Rot" it's not as serious as that. I'm sure there are people who would cite studies and numbers and charts and tell you that it's awful and wretched and has too many risk factors but if we're being totally serious regular sex has almost as many if not more. Been doing this for over a decade without any issue.
So, word of advice. Use only the fresh stuff, use only your own or an immediate partner, clean off with soap and water by scrubbing everything clear then taking a shower, do not let anything sit for too long, anything more than an hour and you're probably best cleaning up. In terms of swallowing, it's probably gonna make you feel queasy and Not Great™ but that's because it's, well, y'know, shit. Don't worry too much, it'll pass.
The risk factors aren't super big, but if you want to be safe when working with a partner that's your best bet. Stool can transfer some scary stuff but that's the keyword here, transfer.
