English Foxhounds

2 different skulls here!

The first 7 photos are from an adult specimen (3 years or older) that was dispatched after an injury.

The second batch of photos are from ‘Darcy’ an 18 month old hound that passed away after getting caught in a skuffle between 2 older hounds. (This is the skull from my taxidermy hound) Darcy has been in my collection for almost 2 years now, and has been in my friends collection for 13 years before that!

hi! i recently got my first set of domestic dog skulls! is there any chance you can help me identify breeds? i mean i'm sure theyre mixed breeds but it would be nice to have a ballpark idea!

Unfortunately with domestic dogs it’s almost impossible to tell what breed (or mix they are) without knowing it at TOD

But I’ve found some breeds have very distinct shapes, so absolutely if you want to send me some photos (I’m way more active on Instagram) I’d be happy to try and help you :)

My talented friend worked on Darcy maybe 14 years ago when I first met her, and she finally decided it was time for him to join my collection 😁

I’m not comfortable saying how much we exchanged for him.

But newer mounts usually cost more than antique ones, and I’ve just paid £100 for a stillborn taxidermy beagle puppy so…. Go up from that! 😬
