Noel Anaya entered foster care in California when he was a year old. He recently aged out of the system at 21 and used his court hearing finalizing the process to send a "signal of distress."
So I’m going to be ramping shit up on soon. I’ve got an idea of the direction I want to go in with this blog for now. I always thought I could just start blogging about a specific thing but I have WAY too many interests to stay on one topic for too long. So what I’m going to do is take on projects as they start to interest me. It’ll be a free-flowing arc characteristic of life’s up and downs (Ok that sounded much better than anticipated).
So what interests me now? My serious $60k debt. I’ve decided to get this shit knocked out as fast as I can. So expect a lot of financial themed posts with random shit I like thrown in.
If you have any blogs i should follow to help me out on my journey that would be great too.
My Life Til This Point Part 2
There were still two very big problems I had though. One was I still working at the worst possible job ever and two, mom was still managing my finances because she still didn’t think I could and I was still helping her heavily. I decided to become a Manager at the restaurant because they offered more money. I took this job over working for a running store which I to this day regret because things didn’t get any better at the restaurant. The job was literally draining me of any motivation and happiness that I could muster. My depression nearly evaporated after moving out on my own and starting a new relationship, but this job and not having financial independence was still a drain. So I started looking for a new job. And funnily enough, my motivation again was my girlfriend. I wanted to actually take her out to dinner and take care of the bill, you know, like a man would. I actually started making friends around this time too so I wanted to hang out with them when I could.
A little over a year after I was admitted into a mental hospital, I lucked into a Graphic Designer contract job for the State. I used that as an excuse to open up a separate bank account and start living like I was fucking 25. Things really started to fall together for me. I figured out that I wanted to pursue a career in Cyber Security and got accepted into a program that would get me started on some IT certifications FOR FUCKING FREE. Proposing to my girlfriend even started to creep into my mind.
Things started to go TOO well for me and I was worried something was going to happen to derail everything. Two weeks later, my girlfriend and I found out she was pregnant. I initially was against keeping it cause it would put a lot of financial stress on us, but after some time and her adamant insistence on keeping the baby, I started to get really excited about being a Dad. It’s something I have always wanted, just a little later down the road.
Well this past Friday, my girlfriend had a miscarriage and had to have an emergency abortion. We were both devastated and it hit me a lot harder than I could ever imagine. We are getting through it, but we are having a hard time getting rid of the onesies we bought.
This is a very rough outline of the things that have happened over the last years, but I guess what I really want to get across is that Depression really fucking sucks and it never really goes away but you can rise above it. Depression completely destroys the all the positive things in your life and turns what’s left into shit. It’s tough as all hell to get out of, but when you find that motivation to get out like my girlfriend was my motivation, you fucking ride it man. Don’t let anyone try to tell you that your motivation is the wrong motivation in getting yourself out of depression. Get yourself out and stand on your two feet so you can deal with life’s bullshit. If my girlfriend and I, God forbid, break up it’ll suck balls, but I will be eternally grateful that she was there to get me out of the worst funk when nothing and no one else could and giving me an opportunity get even and get better. So when you find your motivation, you ride it cause it may not come around again.

My Life Til This Point Part 1
The last two years has been a gigantic roller coaster I wasn’t sure I wanted to survive. I came back from Costa Rica and immediately jumped into a serving job to help the person who had become like a 2nd mother to me. This would soon become one of the worst decisions I ever made, the job not the helping. Later that year, I was admitted to a mental hospital for wanting to commit suicide. I spent my Christmas in 2014 with my shoelaces and belt locked away so I couldn’t act on said suicidal thoughts. After a month of being in the hospital I was finally let out on New Years Eve. I needed a fresh start and cut off nearly everyone I had known, family included, to get my shit together.
At the time I was living with my “2nd Mom” and we thought things would get better. They in fact got much worse. I couldn’t afford a car, so I was biking 18 miles total 6 days a week to work 12 hr shifts on my feet. I was hurting in every imaginable way. “2nd Mom” and I had been arguing before I was admitted to the hospital but the arguments became daily and were even worse than before. There were plenty of nights I walked out of the house to not return for another week. I didn’t really have friends at the time because I was transplant in Maryland and no time to actually socialize with anyone my age that wasn’t at work, so my depression got worse and worse.
Last summer, when I didn’t think things could ever get any better, I started spending a lot of time with my now girlfriend. I don’t know if she understands fully, but she literally saved me from myself. While I felt like everyone else treated me like a child, she was the only one that I felt saw and treated me like a man. We definitely had feelings for each other, but she felt like I was committed to her and didn’t view her as a priority. I hated to know she felt that way, soooo I moved out of my mom’s and closer to my girlfriend. The weight lifted off my chest was HYUUGE. I committed to spending more time together and we became official during the fall.
New content coming. Not like I have much of a following but whatever.

I'm in a picture! Shocking! I know.
That's Volcán Concepción in the background there. I really wasn't able to get many good pictures of Volcán Maderas unfortunately. My phone died before I got on the ferry, and the day I left was so cloudy you could barely see the volcanoes. It's ok, I'll most likely be heading back for my last visa trip in April.

Ya, you have to drive on an airstrip at one point to travel around the island.
A gentleman I met at Ojo de agua, was selling these Volcanic rock sculptures of indigenous gods. The 3 after the first picture are different renditions of the warrior god, The next one is of a Mono congo (Howler Monkey) and the last is a representation of the god of agriculture. This deity actually is holding two objects that represented two very important crops in the region but I can't remember what they are at the moment.
