RIGHT. let's talk abt fighter blythe and fixer blythe, actually. no one asked but this is for ME
intuitive blythe fans might realize that fixer's outfit is just an adjusted fighter's "wet work" outfit. AND IT IS INTENTIONAL!!! the wet work outfit is meant to be interpreted as a uniform, some semblance of professionalism compared to his usual look. fixer blythe wears that one outfit and one outfit only- its not a uniform, its his LIFE. its the path he chose to walk instead of fighter's "i have nothing else, ill do this then" energy.
that being said, not only is fixer way more proper and professional compared to fighter, he is also elusive and more hidden. fighter has some public image, most surface people know him as the bartender who sometimes takes over in certain days. you would NOT see fixer blythe unless youre intentionally seeking him out, and even then its a risk grabbing his attention bc you never know what the fuck is up with that guy. people who can contact him personally is The One, anything that resembles family, or the very few friends he has.
fixer is obviously. um. more freaky. i do think fixer and fighter are not too different from each other, but fixer is just way more indulgent and aware of his own inclinations compared to fighter. fixer is more than happy to employ psychological tactics and weeks long torture before eventually getting to his victim, compared to fighter instantly hunting a person down for one day. so instead of having scare phases, fixer has action escalation similar to his school days if he has The One by then.
fixer smiles a lot. fighter is grumpy and frowns. fighter is a lot easier to understand though, you see his scowl and you know to avoid him for a while. his body language is also easier to read aswell- fighter tends to be imposing and huge. fixer on the other hand.....if he isnt pulling his classic poker face, hes smiling. or at the very least, a polite smile. he keeps his hand to himself and actually tries to make himself look smaller- people get more careless the more they think fixer isnt a threat. fixer does have a reason to smile, most of the time its because of The One, but if hes smiling a bit too wide towards you, a stranger, maybe its time to move towns or something.
fighter uses his fist more because thats what he's used to, fixer finds comfort in weapons. theres like....a lot to unpack from that alone but to make it simple : the moment fixer understands that weapons can affect the mental state of his victims or hit targets more, the more he finds himself liking weapons. the look of terror when he shoves his gun to someone's mouth, its a sight he'll never forget.
fixer has little scars around his body, he rarely gets injured in the job bc he is SUCH a professional. the only ones you can see are scuff marks on his hands and wrist, while fighter's whole body is littered with scars, and many more in the future. that is to say : its gonna be way harder stabbing fixer than you do fighter, lol
fighter, when hes hunting someone, is more angry and antagonistic. the point for him is to get rid of people who anger him, shitstains who cant keep it to themselves. fixer is also antagonistic but. yk. giddy. mocking. like i said this dude would straight up fuck with you for weeks, even a month depending on how much he thinks you fucked up. he'd bang on your door at night, tap your bedroom window, intentionally get in your house and mess with your belongings to invoke the feeling of paranoia. when he does eventually kill you hes condescending, consistently making fun of you before dropping the act and telling you straight up what you did wrong and why you deserve this punishment. he doesnt care if you disagree or plead your case, hes already decided to do this to you the moment you did something to attract his attention.
he would also just. send you to the ubrothel or prison if needs be. much easier to arrange now that he has some semblance of power. fighter blythe wouldnt bother with all of this- if hes getting rid of someone, he does it immediately. fixer just does it to indulge himself and for the love of the game, truly.
both boys would love to involve you in their lil murder if you want- the key difference here is for fighter, its "lets do this together <3 yay <3" while fixer is like "what do you want me to do to them? anything goes, love. be creative. or do you want to be the one holding the knife?"
fighter feels bad abt seeing the usual noncon activities done to someone else. unfortunate but its just a fact of life. fixer does NOT have this problem at all, especially if its someone in his shit list. i mean fuck hes probably the one who tied the person to the pole so. if you cant take it, dont dish it out! <- not wrong but possibly the harshest and vile way to go on about it
fixer's victim count is probably more than fighter's, tbh.
if fighter is meant to evoke fear when you look at him, fixer is meant to evoke uneasiness instead.
