"Oh! Thank you!" (She didn't need to be told twice and promptly headed to the door. Okay so no chocolate but she could hug right?)
She waved the little girl off, leaning on her palm when she was gone.
â...hm, how sweet,â
(Panda raised her head again. Oh. Strangers didn't normally call her affectionate names like sweetheart. Nice lady.) "Um.. can I bring anything in to her? Like chocolate?" (Did they give Mel chocolate in prison?)
âNo, Iâm afraid not sweetheart. Sheâs in holding, not prison so we have no contraband checks from this point,â she felt genuinely bad. She wish she could help her.â... how about you go on in? Iâm sure they wont mind you being a little early,â
(A frown claimed her expression to hear Officer wasn't here but she just nodded to the woman. ) "Thank you." (He was probably taking time off after the whole shooting someone dead thing. Panda took a seat in the corner and occupied herself counting how many people came in and went out the station doors. Twenty minutes wasn't that long.)
Aki watched the girl sit on her own, âUm, sweetheart? Is there anything else I can help with?â
"Can I wait here then?" (Panda wrote her name on the page indicated and glanced around. No sign of Officer, the Queen look alike or the blond cop that helped her during the press conference.) "Um, is Sir Kn- I mean, is Chief Ryou Bakura around?" (He'd explain why Mel was here properly.)
âOh um-... no, heâs not,â she winced, âhe hasnât been around for a while.â she didnât want to break it to this child that he was on the missing persons register. Sheâd been here in the lobby the day of Pandaâs breakdown after the conference.Â
âBut yes, you can wait here,â she smiled.
"Um excuse me? I'm looking for a friend of mine who was imprisoned. Her name is Mel. Blond hair, dark skin, very impressive hip and bust size? I'd like to see her to make sure she's okay please?"
Aki stared at the young girl, a little baffled, âOh well, visiting hours arenât for another 20 minuets. Do you have a name? I will need to sign you in,â she smiled and pushed forward a book, which she flipped open to the page marked with a thin blue ribbon.
-Prison Plot-
[ooc]
Mel has officially been arrested for first-degree murder, assisted murder, and grievous bodily harm. Â She is awaiting trial.
Ask box is open for plot-related asks!
Ryou is missing.
Blankey looked at the empty office with wet eyes. The man had just left, it seemed, and no one had a clue where he went.
But Blankey would find him, that she would swear. Sheâs a goddamn police dog, and her nose was the best thing around.
She dug through everything; his drawers, his chair, his everything. She found his gun, unloaded, and his badge. She walked to the couch and put a pillow in her mouth, carefully, and tiptoed out of his office. She had a plan.
It took her an hour to get where she wanted; her usual bus route was running late today, and the dog had no time to lose. The abandoned amusement park rose high into the sky, wind causing metal to creak and groan. It was a quiet place, a safe place, where most humans didnât go because of the tales of ghosts and horrors.
A perfect place for a base.
She entered the park through a hole in the surrounding fence, shaking away sawdust before padding to the rundown haunted house. She could hear a voice inside, one she knew, and she would have sighed in relief if it wasnât for the fact that should could drop the pillow in her mouth.
Once she brushed past the hanging skeletons, she dropped it.
Pudge, I got a job for you.
The bulldog dropped the doughnut, licking his lips clean from the powdered sugar. He looked at her, at the pillow, and back to her again.
âYo, boss. Is that an officer badge?â
Yes. It seems Chief Ryou has gone missing, and I need all paws on deck. I need you to get the scent around; call every dog that weâre connected too, and have them touch onto other connections. Iâll be searching around the police station for more clues, so if you get anything, send Babe my way.
âYes maâam.â
If Pudge knew how to salute, he would have, but bowing would have to do. He scampered off, presumably to the amusement parkâs main building. Blankey sighed, ears and tail drooping, before beginning the long walk back home. Hopefully the bus wasnât late anymore.

.:: - Intro for New Plot
âChief! I have the results from the body, and I have some interesting discover-â WhatâŠ? WhereâŠ? He was only working in the lab for little over two hours! Yes, that could seem like a long time to most, but for him and being at thorough as he normally was, it was very little time. He could have sworn the Chief was still here when he first arrived at work, even greeted the man. Now⊠now all he was greeted with was an empty office and the Chiefâs badge/gun sitting neatly in the middle of his desk. His folder dropped to the floor as he rushed around to the other side for any sort of reason for the Chiefâs disappearance. âShitâŠâ He grabbed the phone and pressed the emergency button that would alert the entire building. âThe Chief is Missing! I repeat, the Chief is Missing!â
Roulette
âI love you too.â Â She was still very clearly in a state of shock and upset, but just knowing that Otogi would be here soon seemed to calm her nerves a little. Heâd fix this.. he would.
âI love you so much, and I promise Iâll make it up to you.â Â She took a step or two, feeling the pull of the phone cord, but seemingly forgetting everything and everyone else in the room. Â Good thing she wore waterproof mascara, because now a few tears were finally falling.
There was never a reply from Otogi. Instead Taka had pressed the handset, and ended the call, the dial tone the only thing that greeted her.
âYouâre done, letâs get you into a consultation room,â he stood from his chair and held his hand out for the phone.
Roulette
âIâll stand, thanks for the offer, though. Â Very gentlemanly.â Â Mel wasnât willing to admit that eventually, sheâd probably have to sit. Â These heels werenât meant for standing around all day.
âLike I said, Iâm not answering any questions until I can call my boyfriend..-â She closed her eyes in a moment of mental scolding. Â She hadnât said until now that it was her boyfriend she was calling. Â The officer probably assumed as such.. but still, now it was confirmed.
âHeâs waiting for me and I have to let him know where I am. Â Iâll talk after that. Â I think that seems fair.â Â She stood with her legs closed together and a with a neat little posture. âFrankly, fuck the Dr. Pepper and the cigarette. Â I just want to talk to my boyfriend.â
Taka sat on the other side of the desk, observing Mel with mild amusement. He checked the time then looked back to Mel, âItâs midnight,â he placed a finger on his office phone - the old kind with a cord still attached - and pushed it towards Mel with a smug expression.
âMake your phone call, weâll see what good it will do you,â
Roulette
â⊠Shit ..â Â
Her body jerked forward a little as they pulled in, and before she had a chance to prepare herself for exiting, she was utterly yanked from the car. Â
âHey- hey! Â Not so rough, Iâm a tiny little woman!â Â Her voice was more shrill and frustrated as the panic began to rise again.
Bribery didnât work, and she had a feeling that flirting definitely wouldnât work.
.. Maybe sheâd actually have to cooperate. Just not yet.
âIâm not answering any of your stupid questions until I get my phone call.â Â She was very demanding in this, and turned her nose up as she was guided towards the station. âAnd I want a can of Dr. Pepper, and a cigarette.â
Taka rolled his eyes and didnât humour her with a reply.
They walked her into the modern building and Taka was keen to get on with her processing. They had a lot to get through and he was sure the blond would demand a lawyer at some point, after he phone call.
They walked into an open office with about six desks and at this point it was just Mel and Taka.
âSit,â he motioned to a stiff looking office chair, her hands still bound behind her back,â
Roulette
Her stomach turned at the thought of dragging Otogi into this mess. Â He had a list of crimes of his own, after all. Â She couldnât afford to get him arrested, too.
â..Listen, officersâŠâ She scooted forward on her seat, which was a little difficult with her hands bound behind her back.  She made a few noises of discomfort before she leaned her face closer to the backs of their seats.
âI havenât done anything wrong. Â Come on, look at me. Â Do I really look like Iâm the kind of person capable of seriously hurting anyone?â Â She let out a light laugh, though she was worried about how genuine it sounded.
âWeâre wasting each otherâs time, letâs be real. Â And youâre right - I do have a lot of money floating around. Â You let me go and forget about this whole mess, and I can set you two up for life. Â An early retirement to the Bahamas doesnât sound too bad, right?â
At this point, she was desperate. Â It was either bribery, or seduction. Â Sheâd take the high road of the two for now.
âBribery?â Takaâs voice rose slightly and he let out a kurt laugh, âoh, how about we add that to your list of offences? Bribing an officer is illegal,â he shook his head in distain.
âPull in to the station, letâs get this sorted,â Taka spoke with disgust in his voice, as if Mel were some dirty chore to get over and done with.
They pulled into the back car park and Makei opened the door, looking sullen as he did so. He couldnât help but feel awkward arresting a woman like this. She didnât seem like a criminal.
Taka, however, didnât care. He grabbed Melâs arm and hauled her from the vehicle.Â
Roulette
Her heartbeat quickened as the car neared the police station.. but she was then overcome with annoyance at the officersâ sudden change of plans.
âTime to cool down?  God.. havenât you ever heard that you donât ever tell a woman to calm down?âÂ
She clicked her tongue, planting her back against the seat and letting out a deep sigh. Â At least she had a little time to process what was going on now.. maybe prepare a few answers to their inevitable questions.
It also meant she did have time to calm down.. and naturally, that created room for her usual snarky nature.
âYouâre seriously arresting a little baker woman when there are real criminals out there right now?â Â Another sigh, and she rolled her eyes, peering out the window at the passing buildings. Â âI bet you two havenât touched a woman in your entire lives.â
âJust take me to the station so we can get this over with. Â I have a party to get to.â
âYouâre going no where,â Taka looked in the rear view mirror, âI know about your rich boyfriend, so donât think youâll get off lightly when it comes to bail. And we have more than enough to hold you for at least tonight,â
Makei circled the block for a second time, âsir, uh, when should I pull in?â
âWhen I tell you to,â he answered stiffly.
They had no where else to be, and he took smug satisfaction in prolonging Melâs oh so important phone call.
Roulette
Oh god. It was her father, what sheâd done to her father. Â It had to be. Sheâd only ever killed once before, and that was months ago.. that couldnât be suddenly emerging now, could it?
Mel could have protested more - after all, it did nothing for her social reputation to be seen like this.. forced into the back of a police car with her hands bound? Â Not very glamorous.
âYou canât do this! Â You have nothing on me!â Â She writhed as she was shoved into the back seat of the car, a few strands of blonde hair falling out of her pigtails to hang over her shoulders.
But shouting and acting out further would only make her more suspicious, and she could really do without a heavy jail sentence.
âI get a phone call, donât I?â It was more of a statement than a question. Â She had no experience with this sort of thing.. but from what she saw on television, every prisoner was entitled to a phone call.
âSomeoneâs waiting for me, I have to let them know whatâs going on.â Â As the car doors slammed shut, `Mel could feel her heart pounding in her chest, a layer of cold sweat building up on her skin.
They didnât offer her any further response.Â
Taka got into the passengerâs seat and Makei into the drivers. They drove in silence but as they neared the station Takaâs lips quirked. Mel seemed to be in a rush to get to her phone call, but Taka wasnât sure why she should get the privilege.
âCircle the block a few times,â Taka instructed, âI think Miss Zandalari could do with a little time to cool down before we go through the process.â
Makei blinked and briefly looked at his superior, âAh, well sir...â he lowered his voice, âis that okay to do?â
âDonât question me. Keep driving,â
Roulette
She made a sharp movement to free herself from the younger oneâs grip, but before she knew it, her wrist was firmly bound in steel.
âHow dare you! Charges?! Â Youâve gotta be kidding me!â Â She struggled a little, panicking now, but knowing that to act out to much was to basically confirm the accusations.
âI donât know what youâre talking abâ Do you even have evidence of these âcrimesâ Iâm supposed to have committed?â
People in the street were stopping now, some pulling out their phones to record the arrest. Â Videos like that were sure to get a few hits online.
"We canât make arrest without proper cause,â the second link clicked around Melâs slim wrist and the boy pushed Mel towards the car as Taka started to list off Melâs crimes.
âMeline Zandalari  you are being arrested on one account of first degree murder, several accounts of grievous bodily harm, conspiracy to murder and accessory to murder. You have the right to remain silent but every thing you say from the point of your arrest can and will be held against you in a court of law,âÂ
By the time he had finished listing things off Makei had Mel at the car, and was pushing her head to to force her in.Â
Roulette
âAah.. what the hell..â The words were exhaled with an exasperated sigh, her eyes rolling with an obvious frustration.
Despite everything Mel was, the police were something she never took too seriously. Â The bakery had never been searched, and she couldnât imagine they knew much about her.
At the moment, they were more of a distraction than a threat, she felt.
âThatâs my name, handsome. Â And Iâm going to be late for a very important event, so Iâd love to stay and chat, but..â
She attempted to step between them, holding her chin high to assert dominance.
As Mel attempted to walk between them the older of the two gave the young officer a strict look and the boy sort of fumbled and hesitated before he grabbed her arm.
âMelanie Zandalari,â the older spoke again, âyouâre under arrest.â the words were spoken with such simply clarity.
âCuff her, Makei,âÂ
Makei nodded his head and pulled his cuffs from his trousers, clipping one silver bracelet around her wrist.
âDo you want me to list your charges here, or the station?â Taka drawled sarcastically, ânot sure we have the time,â
