kyuhyun looked down at the object, debating whether to listen to it or throw it away. But changmin’s words were too precious to be wasted, especially at the static state he was in. taking a deep breath, he prepared himself and pressed the play button.

“if you’re hearing this, i’m probably dead, or dying. kyuhyun. my best friend, my lover, my soulmate. i’m sorry i never told you. i thought you would be safe. i thought i could protect you, but i was stupid. remember that time i said i would take a bullet for you? i was serious. thank you for giving me those happy moments. the days that i shielded your hands from the cold winds, the first kiss we had when we held each other tightly, those things i will treasure even after i pass on.

just know before i go that that i was a man who loved only you. You were the light of my life, kyuhyun. you made every day that normally would have been terrible. instead, they became the best days i ever spent. you’ll forget me eventually, like you forget everything, but that’s okay. i’ll close my eyes forever and wish you happiness. that’s all i could ever ask for. i love you, kyuhyun.”

and with that, he held his arms around his knees, and he cried.
