I'm into John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Coldplay, and lots of other music; also going to concerts, gardening, Monarch butterflies, home renovations... pretty much all in that order LOL. I'm also an expert bat whisperer, skunk whisperer, and mouse whisperer. Haven't quite gotten the raccoon whispering down yet, but I'm working on it. Oh... the picture of me was taken during one of the happiest moments of my life ~ my first time in the front row at a John Mayer concert!! :) What else would you like to know?

ANNOUNCING A RAFFLE TO BENEFIT “Team Trey” and @isaacfoundation ‘s MPS II Fund (Hunter Syndrome) - Random drawing is on July 8th!

The John Mayer Fan Street Team has received a donation of the items pictured above, from one of our street teamers.  It’s the swag she received as part of her Good Love / Meet & Greet / Front Row package for the Boston show on April 9th.  One lucky person is going to receive both the TSFE tour poster AND the “Emoji of a Wave” lyrics sheet with John’s original signature on it, in the raffle we’re announcing RIGHT NOW to benefit The Isaac Foundation!

Yesterday, a dedicated group of supporters ran in the Scotiabank 5K half-marathon despite scorching heat, and raised $13,891 for MPS II (Hunter Syndrome) research. 

The JMFST has decided to use this recent “JM swag” donation to add even more money to the total raised by friends of Trey Purcell, who is battling MPS II. The money raised by this raffle (net of shipping cost) will be sent to Team Trey and The Isaac Foundation’s MPS II Fund, and will add to the $7,500+ already raised by John Mayer fans!!!

RAFFLE DETAILS

Starting today, you can enter once a day for the next 12 days, for $5 USD per entry. 

This raffle is being conducted via PayPal only.  To enter, simply send $5 US dollars and you’ll automatically be entered.  No need to tell us what it’s for; we’ll know, as this is the only thing we are running at the moment.  Please use our email address [email protected], and mark it as “sending money to family or friends.”  If you don’t mark it that way, PayPal will deduct a “seller fee,” and we’ll have to send your entry money back to you, and ask you to resubmit it correctly. 

If you miss a day, you may send a “catch up donation” at any time, but you may not submit more than 12 entries per person, or $60 total.  We will allow you to also enter for a friend who doesn’t have PayPal, as long as you indicate when you send the $5 that it’s for someone else, and give us that person’s name in the PP “note” field. (Also okay to enter for multiple friends, but not more than 12 entries per person.)

This raffle is open to anyone worldwide, so please be sure that your entry comes in as US dollars (you can do that on PayPal).  Any entries that are short due to being sent incorrectly will be returned, and we’ll ask you to resubmit.  If any entries come in with excess, we will donate the extra $ to Team Trey and MPS II research.

We will conduct a random drawing on July 8th, and one winner will be announced that day.  The merch will be mailed in a sturdy poster tube.  Within the US, we will provide tracking; however, we are unable to track internationally. Please understand that international shipping involves some risk.  Although we’ve never had a shipment lost in transit, it is possible.  In the unlikely event that the merchandise does get lost, we are unable to offer cash refunds. Please understand that this is a charity fundraiser, and that your money has already been donated to help sick kids.  Everything that we bring in gets sent immediately to The Isaac Foundation.

OUR GOAL

Based on what we have raised with similar items in the past, we would like to set our goal for this raffle at $250.  That would be a beautiful thing, because it would put our total raised for The Isaac Foundation closer to $10,000… something we’re striving for this year!.  It would also be a very nice chunk of change to add to Team Trey’s $13,891 raised yesterday.

So let’s see if we can do it, folks!  GO!!!

I run this little group of JM fans called The JM Fan Street Team, and we are dedicated to helping The Isaac Foundation and MPS kids through a wide range of volunteer fundraising, support, and advocacy services.  Since 2012, we have raised over $7,500 for this cause through raffles and other fundraising activities.

Our current goal is to hit $10,000 USD raised by the end of 2017.

Today is Day 2 of our current raffle.  I donated these items that I received as part of my Meet & Greet package back in April, and we’re hoping to raise at least $250 within the next 11 days. 

It’s only $5 to enter, and you can enter up to 12 times (i.e., once daily, with catch-ups allowed if you miss a day).

Anything we bring in with this particular raffle will be used to support Team Trey in the Scotiabank half-marathon that happened this past Sunday, and donated to The Isaac Foundation’s MPS II (Hunter Syndrome) Fund.  A cure for MPS II is on the horizon!

We just donated US $70 to The Isaac Foundation, which represents the sale of two vintage crystal sun catchers and our last Paradise Valley cup cozy/pencil cup.  This brings the total we’ve raised for MPS kids to $6,372 in 3 years.  

Our Etsy store will be reopening soon, with some new merchandise.  If you need any gifts this fall, please consider buying a beautiful sun catcher or other item from our store.  ALL (that’s 100%) of the net proceeds from our shop are donated to The Isaac Foundation!!

Seven years ago right at this moment, my hands were shaking so uncontrollably that I couldn't put mascara on for fear of poking out my own eye. My bladder was even shaking - I was peeing every five minutes. I could barely eat because of my nervous stomach. Why? Because I was in my hotel room, getting ready to meet John Mayer. The man I'd worshipped for seven years. The man whose music had literally saved my life, whose songs and humor and personality and guitar neck had reached down into the very dark, deep hole I was in, and pulled me out to safety. It still remains one of the best days of my life, right up there with my wedding day and seeing my nephew being born. Not to mention that so many members of my JM family were tailgating with me that day, cheering me on. Still so grateful that my life saw this moment. 💕💕💕💕

Everyone who contributed to our December Etsy sales was entered into the raffle. If you missed out, similar sets will be made during 2015. We are also planning some homemade dog treats and accessories, a couple of fantastic little girl dress up kits, some beautiful greeting cards made from recycled vintage materials, and of course sun catchers!

We are starting 2015 with a grand total of $6,000 in donations raised for The Isaac Foundation, since we began our fundraising in August 2012!

Thank you to EVERYONE who has supported our efforts. Whether you’ve donated cash, your grandmother’s broken jewelry, your old greeting cards, or things you’ve picked up at yard sales - it has all helped us tremendously!

We still have a huge stock of donated materials that will support our creative efforts for quite some time! Let’s set some new fundraising goals! Let’s shoot for $2K raised annually for the next two years. If we do that, we will achieve a total raised of $10K by the end of 2016! We CAN do it!

(Video) Segment during the Continuum chapter from the documentary John Mayer: Someday I’ll Fly

John Mayer has always enjoyed sharing his work in progress at live shows.

At a couple of concerts in March of 2004, fans got a chance to hear the workings of Simmering. The track that would later become Belief on the Continuum record in 2006.

The performances of Simmering ranged from show to show with various improvised lyrics each time. Mayer pretty much had the template of the song down in terms of melody and instrumentation, but the earliest bootleg recordings suggest he hadn’t yet found the suitable theme to fit the music he was aiming for. 

Perhaps the best recording of Simmering (in my opinion) see’s Mayer cut seamlessly into a cover of Eric Clapton’s ‘Old Love' then teasing Wheel before ripping into a lively solo.
