I meant to post this the same day I posted last time but honestly I completely forgot.
So, I first asked the boy to come home with me for Easter last year, but he was busy and couldn’t come and honestly that was fine. He didn’t decide till the day before I left, so he said he would definitely come home with me for fall break. Fast forward, he forgot and his parents ended up coming here for fall break, so he couldn’t exactly change those plans. Also fine.
I asked then if he would come home with me this Easter, and he said if he could pull the time off his project he would. I kept reminding him so he would know to work a little extra during the week so he could still come. He seemed fine until this monday, when I asked again. [maybe it was tuesday? which ever day I made the last text post]
He basically made it abundantly clear that he could in fact come but didn’t want to anymore. He said it was because it would be awkward, but I got the feeling that it was also that he was nervous about meeting more of my family and being in my house. Obviously I would get upset by this, because he had said if he had the time he would definitely come, and now that he definitely had the time he was looking for a way out.
I didn’t want to yell, but I felt like I would. Also, whenever I was about to say something intentionally calmly, I felt like I was about to cry. So I just ended up being silent for about an hour. In that we watched one of our shows, and then went back to doing our own thing.
I didn’t want to force him to do anything, but I wasn’t calm enough to talk about it more without getting angry or cry, which I didn’t want to do. He could tell I was upset, and eventually I think he put together why, so by the end of the night he decided he would come.
Thats about it. It seems kinda manipulative now that it’s all typed out, but honestly, I was just trying to not cry and not yell, because I knew I would regret either.
