riverdale glee episode mr schue writes up on the board TRAUMA because he believes the glee club members are not effectively channeling their emotions into their music really undercutting their chances at sectionals this year and urges each member to find something that really speaks to them but not too much because everyone was really uncomfortable with bettys rendition of ephiphany from sweeney todd last week after she tearfully confessed she believed she might be destined to become a serial killer but mr schue assured her that she could also have a viable career as a washout glee instructor just like him veronica volunteers to sing first and sings criminal by britney spears giving a moving speech about archie being sent to prison and that she might be charged as an accomplice for her fathers racketeering charges and to add insult to injury that the principal has ordered her to shut down her bar under the bleachers and given her detention for promoting underage drinking prompting mr schue to say veronica.. in the glee club we are all criminals but everyone also finds it kind of weird shes singing this song about her fathers crimes jughead who was blackmailed into joining the glee club after mr schue planted jingle jangle on him and hates every second of it gets up and says oh how original we are just supposed to act out mr schue's a chorus line fantasy while sue sylvester silences the free press?? and sings seize the day from newsies (this is him working thru his trauma of being told he belongs in newsies by his glee club bullies) toni and cheryl sing a really emotionally charged and uncomfortable rendition of take me or leave me from rent and make everyone else witness their impending breakup in true glee fashion and everyone congratulates them on being the first gay people to ever sing this song in a high school but cheryl also tearfully tells everyone she wont be returning to glee club because everyones a bunch of ungrateful losers who dont appreciate her talent and she wants to win nationals with the cheerios archie awkwardly walks to the center of the choir room holding his guitar and is like well ive been working on this one a while and sheepishly holds his hand behind his head and says its born to run by bruce springsteen you know like when me n jug were on the run that one summer from the people who hate theater kids that was really traumatic (hiram in the glee universe is a guy who tries to turn community theaters into parking lots taking advantage of the precarity of the real estate market post housing market crash) and thats what you missed on glee!
