Whump imagine

imagine your whumpee being guided into a room with their arm slung limply over their companions shoulder. Stumbling every few steps and punctuated by a groan, wincing, breathing sharply. The whumpee falls more than sits down on the dusty couch and stifles a moan as the impact jars their head. Their friend turns to leave to go get help, but quickly whirls around to help whumpee lay down. Whumpee is already listing to one side when their companion takes hold of their upper body against one arm. With their free hand, they cradle their friend’s bleeding head in the other hand to gently guide them down to rest their head on the arm of the couch. Their friend gingerly wiggles their now blood stained hand out from under whumpee’s head. Whumpee exhales what sounds like a breathy laugh when their companion wipes their hand off on whumpee’s torn shirt. Companion cracks a grin despite the situation and balls up the floppy end of their sleeve into their hand to rub the blood streaks off of whumpee’s forehead. Blood gone, they lean down and plant a kiss on that spot and say, “I’m gonna go get help,” before they turn and leave.

I love it when Whumpee is leaning on things. They're dizzy, nauseous, in too much pain to stand, or just plain tired, and they can't get by without some kind of support.

Leaning on cabinets and against walls in people's houses. Propping their head up with their hands at the dining table. Steadying themself against a banister on the stairs. Holding on to the post of the traffic light for dear life while they wait to cross the road because if they stand still unsupported they will fall to the ground.

It's such a small display of I am not feeling good, but once another character notices it becomes so obvious. This person is weak and vulnerable. Either I can help them, or I can hurt them further. It's not like they're in any position to stop me.

you can pull recovery whump tropes/cliches from my cold dead hands. every time a caretaker waits at a distance for whumpee to touch them first, only to have that moment be when they fall asleep on their shoulder and they are DESPERATE to be chill and cool and not freaking out theyre so not brimming with excitement over this- an angel gets its wings

"get up." a light nudge followed by a kick to their abdomen. "get up."

whumpee shakes their head. curls up tighter into themself. what's the point, if all that awaits them is more endless agony anyways?

a low cry of despair slips past their lips as whumper grabs their hair and pulls them up. "I said," two heavy slaps followed by a warning squeeze to the back of their throat. "get the fuck up."

whumpee trembles, trembles, trembles. tasting blood, feeling it dribble past their chin. it won't stop. what's the point?

they get up anyways. they always get up.

Sports player Whumpee uses the hem of their shirt to wipe the sweat from their brow during a game, completely forgetting that their abdomen is absolutely littered with bruises. The cameras catch all the damage. The commentators aren't quite sure what to say. Whumpee drops their shirt and keeps playing.
