I love this photo so much. Because, here’s the thing. If you have one of these dogs (maybe just any dog, I don’t know, but I have a feeling breed personality is relevant here) you just sort of understand this scene. Like, you can’t be mad at this dog. You can try to train him up and treat him well and at a certain point, very early on, it just becomes apparent that he sort of owns you. That you can spend money on a toy you think he’ll love and play with for a long time, you think, “He’s not all that big. Look at that little mouth. He’ll have to work for awhile to rip this thing up.”
Then, you turn your back for two seconds and this is what you see when you turn back around. But, look at that face. Look at it. What can you do? And those legs? And that chest? Please. It’s my pleasure. Let me clean that up. We’ll have to get you a new toy, now.
