i think the reason why i dislike natlan so much is 1.) that it was hyped up to be some isolated war torn nation with powerful dragons and it ended up being all colorful and cheerful with cute dragons and fun parties and 2.) to me at least it felt like more of a side quest than nod krai. like nod krai was an additional region in between natlan and snezhnaya that likely wasnt even originally planned and added in to tie up loose ends before the grand finale and imo as a huge lore nerd it was SO GOOD and had so much more lore significance than most of natlan. natlan archon quests had a lot of stuff about ley lines and the abyss but i feel like most of it applied only to natlan, although it does have implications for potential lore development further down the line. the lore reveals in the nod krai archon quests however were answers to mysteries that had been speculated and theorized for YEARS before and applied to teyvat as a whole and its ancient history. as a disclaimer i havent currently done all the world quests for either region, but there are definetly some natlan quest that ive heard are pretty important, like the ochkanatlan quest, and i plan to play through that soon. what im mostly talking about here is the archon quests. thank you for coming to my ted talk.

i just finished nod krai act 7 and 8 that was actually the longest stretch of quest i have ever played oh my goodness i kid you not i was at that desk for 7 AND A HALF HOURS. I ATE BOTH BREAKFAST AND LUNCH IN THAT TIME

Iori is an idol in the duo (dont have a name yet ): ). She is known as the younger and cuter one, although it's mostly a persona. Off stage, she can be avoidant and slightly antisocial. Because she's been an idol since she was 5, she has a strict image that has been built up over many years, so out in public she rarely acts outside of it. Both now and throughout her idol career, Iori could almost never be her true self. She has a strict stage persona that she feels like she has to adhere to at all times. Many people often put her on a pedestal and only want to get close with her because she is a famous idol, never trying to create a genuine connection. Her and Maddy met in high school, when they were put in the same class their first year. They became close friends and Iori felt like Maddy was the first person to see and value her true self, and she fell hard for Maddy. Iori eventually confessed, and they started dating. Even though she felt like it was wrong for her to date a girl, it was the happiest she's ever been, and they were together for almost all of highschool. Near the end of highschool, their parents found out they were together and made them separate. Her relationship with her mother got much worse, and she put Iori into conversion therapy. Because of this, Iori became even more strict and ashamed of her true self. Despite conversion therapy and now claiming that there was never anything between her and Maddy, her feelings never truly died out and she wants to get back together. She denies this, both to other people and herself, thinking that if she came out it would ruin her career, so she tries to avoid Maddy as much as possible.
