Max/MSP: 1) build up communication between XBees and Max/MSP. 2) alter the sounds based on the input data from stretch sensors.

pulling instrument –> potential, because it’s rare. The only association people have is ringing the bell.
people seems more related to recognizable sample sounds
pitch changing one needs to be more subtle and gentle
pulling demonstration helps people understand
This is the final design for our info cards. The design went through few iterations and changes but the idea of a round card to relate to the form of the circular base remained.
Dope Ropes have been accepted into ITP Winter Show 2013! Depending on our final assigned hanging location we plan on the additional improvements: new ultra bright LEDs, longer ropes, & allowing the main discs to slide from side to side. Updates to follow.

Users feedback
too many users --> a little bit chaos, because users don't know which is the exact sound they make.
recording function seems reacquiring time to comprehend.
lightings(which represents the recording mood)'s position is too high.
Suggestions
sound mood switch.
because users' attention is focus on listening, "changes" might be clearer delivered through sounds, e.g. voice counting down for recording.
add step function on floor between the ropes.
Improvement to do
change the light position on the same height with users' eye sights.
longer ropes.
stretch sensors need to be stronger.
add rgb led strip.

Final Project Proposal
We will continue perfecting our midterm instrument while incorporating these additional challenges:
Mastering the use of stretch sensors.
Make two hanging units. Each unit will have five analog sensors and one digital on/off sensor.
Make these units more structural and aesthetically pleasing.
Adding Xbees to these units so that they can be hung up high and be wirelessly connected.
