“That’s funny, coming from the man who turns off the comms on me half the time.”
“All lies. It was no more than four times and I had to.”
venxives:
“Won’t be so relaxing in thirty years when you die of emphysema.”
“Thirty years in our line of work? I’m sure you know that’s highly unlikely.”
ameliariddle003:
“Nope, I don’t smoke, sorry”
“No problem. I suppose I could do without another.”
— open.
0-0-4:
“My darling Dorian, I’m slightly insulted that you’d even consider myself and fast food in the same thought.”
“I know somewhere close that’s lovely. – - So, tell me, how was the mission? Any unexpected developments?”
“I apologize. Don’t know what I was thinking.”
“A few. It spiced thing up a little. Not anything out of the ordinary though. How about yours?”
— open.
laura-simmons:
“I’m not sure I believe you there, but I’ll let it slide.” Laura gets the machine going, then settles down behind her desk, stretching out. “You’re back in one piece, so I can’t hold it all against you. Though I imagine it was rife with the usual close calls.”
“Same old, same old. I couldn’t do it without you.”
agentrachellewis:
Rachel laughed lightly and shook her head. “I do, but only when an alias calls for it.”
“Ah, what don’t we do for aliases. I’m sure you don’t smoke that much though.”
venxives:
“So, if I may ask, why do you smoke, then? If you think your lungs would be ungrateful to you.”
“It’s relaxing, really. Simple as that.”
venxives:
“No, I don’t, I tried it when I was younger and almost coughed out a lung. I also detest the taste.”
He let out a laugh, nodding. “It isn’t quite so pleasant at first, I have to agree. And I’m sure your lungs are very grateful.”
qseven:
Q wasn’t about to judge the agent, regardless of how much he smoked–they all had their own ways of coping, and considering the lifespan of your average double-0, he wasn’t likely to feel the long-term effects.
“No, thanks,” he answered, quite honestly. He felt no need to calm himself; Silke was back, Bond was at least passably communicative–all was right with the world.
Dorian shrugged as a reply and leaned against the wall, taking a drag from the cigarette occasionally. Normally he would enjoy the silence stretched between him and his company, but since he wasn’t particularly close with the quartermaster, he felt inclined to make some effort. “So, how have you been? We haven’t spoken in... a long time.”
venxives:
“I personally don’t smoke, but I do have a lighter. Here.”
“Thank you, I needed that one.” Dorian replied with a smile, giving the lighter back after lighting the cigarette.
“Do you smoke as well?”
qseven:
Considering he generally smoked so rarely–only when he was exhausted and at a loss–Q had fallen out of the habit of carrying around a lighter in recent years. During Silke’s most recent absence, though, he’d started again, and so he took it from his pocket and held it out towards the agent. “Here.”
“Merci beaucoup.” Taking the lighter, he lit the cigarette as quick as possible before giving it back. He wasn’t quite ‘addicted’ to the substance like some would say, but he did like smoking once or twice a day.
“Oh, would you like one?” He asked afterwards, holding out the pack.
agentrachellewis:
Rachel didn’t smoke unless a mission called for it, but she still got in the habit of carrying a lighter around. “Mmm,” she murmured before she flicked it. The flame came to life and she held it over for his cigarette. “You know those’ll kill you, Dorian.”
“Thank you very much.” He replied with a grin, taking a drag from the cigarette before he laughed. “Well, they would have to get in line first.”
“I take it you don’t smoke?”
“Have you got a light?”
— open.
“I should hope I’ve picked that up by now.” She smiled, leading the way to her office and grabbing her spare mug to make them both a coffee. “Of course it’s off-books. What, do you think I’m about to go telling all your secrets? What kind of Quartermaster would that make me?”
“Certainly not Q5. For the record, I’ve never doubted you for a second darling.”
— open.
0-0-4:
“Withholding hubris, I can definitively say I know the best restaurants. What are you in the mood for, love?”
“Anything but fast food. It’s safe to say that last week, I’ve had enough of that for the rest of my life.”
