From the Album - "Can't Find My Home" In case you’re new to The Jost Project, they are a band devoted to jazz and hope to reach a whole new generation of rock fans in a style that will introduce them and pull them into our world. On this CD — “Can’t Find My Way Home” — they switch things up a bit. Instead of using jazz standards as their base, they interpret rock-related “standards” in a contemporary jazz format. What’s their goal? To create a whole new connection between the music of the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Donovan, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beach Boys, and jazz. We are proud to announce the signing of London based jazz vocalist /pianist Theo Jackson. Theo has been quietly making a name for himself in the UK Jazz scene having already played many of London’s iconic venues including Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express, the London Jazz Festival, the Cheltenham Jazz Festival and the Royal Albert Hall to name just a few.
Recently the London based broadsheet the Daily Telegraph described Jackson as “One of the most interesting jazz vocalists and composers to emerge on the British scene for many years”
His forthcoming release will be largely a collection of Jackson’s original tunes. From “Bella’s Coming Home” – the tale of a young girl returning home after having run away – to “Shoeless”, the tale of a homeless man befriended by a little girl, his thoughtful songs are based on his observations of people while living in London.
Theo will be entering the studio to record the album this summer. The expected release date is planed for early 2015.
For those planing to attent the Love Supreme jazz festival this weekend Theo will be performing on Saturday at 5:00pm with Nathanial Facey (Alto Sax), Alex Davis (Bass), and Shaney Forbes (Drums)
