Pieces of memories I wished I left them in that city I used to live in and not seeing them in my room everyday now. Not that I don't like seeing them or they trigger a whole lot, just think it might be wiser to leave them where they happened, so next time when I see them again, it would be a story to tell

love someone for who they are, we've all heard this phrase many times...
accept their presence, good and bad. do your part in helping them achieving their dreams, goals, and their purpose in life
see the apparent and not perceive it as their whole. because this will change over time as the body ages, especially when the shell dies. and yet, love remains, it always does
do you love someone? can you love them the same way you do if they look totally different? skin, colour, size, height, weight, face, body type, background, occupation, and even age. these, are all apparent. cherish the one you love, and love them for who they are

Trouble
Been pretty much staying at the studio all week, mentally excited and physically exhausted. Wished I have a coffee right now. Haven't had a good coffee in a while... a timed, hand-pressed coffee
Also the a/c in the building is strong, even in this sweaty summer, I still wear a jacket inside. Hands are always cold, and I miss that warm pocket
Bought some good wine, thought I'd have someone to share with, to talk about the taste the aroma the notes, and realize... that someone is nobody
Made reservations for two at one of the notable chef's restaurant months ago, hoping another foodie would join. We can talk about the tasting menus, the ratings, how the dishes are put together, what's in it, is it worth the money, and pair with a bottle of good wine. And again, nobody
Wanted to explore and enjoy the city, to catch a show or a movie in the evening, then order a big pizza with cheese and basil and maybe some mushrooms, with lots of pepper flakes. I can only eat so much... there's gonna be leftovers for a very long while
Walked pass Momofuku Milkbar, wanted a softserve with cornflakes and also a blueberry cookie. I stopped myself, there's no way I can finish it on my own
Speakeasies are so tempting, going alone is definitely not wise
Making food for one is always harder, so limited. I might as well just order seamless to be lazy
Never thought losing someone could be so troublesome. Or I should say, someone who shares so many similar likes with me...
It's worse than strangers, at least I can spike up a conversation with a stranger. I only hope that this is still a positive relationship in some way
I only see the best in others, and I don't expect everyone to do the same. Do see other's in a positive light though, everyone has good intentions or at least neutral intentions, which essentially is no intention to do bad things

"Do what I can for you" this has been my philosophy for a very long time. I would go all the way for people I see important.
Question is, how far can one go for another?
Sometimes being nice posses burden to others? Although not validated, I felt the energy when things get turned down. I hope my message gets carried across - my gesture is because I want to, not because I am expecting the same. And it will never be, too.

Vintage Wine List June 2014 (Red)
The last post I listed some vintage white wines that I've tasted. In this one, I am going to talk about a couple reds.
1. 2001 MARGAUX (13%, around $25-$35)
Region: Bordeaux, France
Tobacco notes on the palate, aromas of aged fruits, soft date, dried plum, cider wood, a hint of smokiness. Great balance of acidity and tannin.
Has an amazing transition, decant for 1.5-2 hr for full flavours
Ready to drink now, hold no more than 6 months
2. 2005 FAY (14.5%, around $140-$160)
Region: Stag's Leap, Napa Valley, California, USA
Peppery, hints of spice, cherry, blackberry, and green pepper. Has a herbal note on the palate. Mocha, chocolate, and a soft sweet end note. Great balance on the acidity and tannin as well.
Drink now, or hold for 1-1.5 years
3. 2004 MOOROOROO (15%, around $80-90)
Region: Southern Australia
Aromas of cherry, molasses, liquorice, mild smoky. Dates, figs, tobacco, with a fruity end. Delicious balance of acidity and flavours, soft velvety, a hint of merlot, delicate, chocolate-y and coffee. Fun and yum.
Ready to drink now, can hold 1-3 years too
4. 1999 ABADIA RETUERTA (13%, $45-$55)
Region: Ribera del Duero, Spain
Smells of salinity, fishy, sea water, anchovies, and ocean. Tastes of raspberry, rhubarb, and soft fruits on the palate. Balanced acidity and tannin.
Hold for another 2-3 years
5. 2007 SENA (14.5%, around $90-$100)
Region: Aconcagua Valley, Chile
Notes of herbal, black liquorice. Very youthful, jammy fruits, blackberry. Soft and well-rounded.
Ready to drink now, do not hold.
Vintage Wine List June 2014 (White)
I have been learning about wines since two years ago, and still, I am always amazed by their different aromas and flavours. The same bottle of wine can taste completely different after a couple hours, some may be ready to drink right away, some tastes best to hold a little longer.
Here is a list of vintage wine I've tasted in a wine tasting event recently, and some of my personal notes
1. 2004 CONDRIEU (13.5%, around $40-$50)
Region: North Rhone, France
Very delicate, peachy, light fruits, mild and neutral. Soft, balanced with light acidity. Slight tannin.
Great to drink right away, when it's chilled.
2. 2004 TRIMBACH (12.5%, around $60-$70)
Region: Bordeaux, France
Smells like tire, tennis ball, has a smell of burnt pineapple and grilled peach. Also has a citrus note. Aroma is completely different from its smell, medium acidity. Very interesting Riesling.
Hold for another 1-2 years, in my opinion
3. 2005 CHARDONNAY (14.2%, around $30-$40)
Region: California, USA
Aromas of grilled pineapple, caramel apple, burnt butter, toasted almond. Oaky buttery, mild, hints of acidity and oak.
Ready to drink now, hold no longer than 6 months.
Creative usage of space has been a popular trend lately, maximizing the limited space to enhance living. This is especially helpful in highly populated cities, or where people have minimal square footage to use

Wow I haven’t post anything for about a year now, I am back! Hopefully adding some new twist to my blog. Lots of changes, I am going to focus on motivational posts, health-related posts, architectural posts, as well as food posts :)
Been reading a lot lately and came across this really interesting article discussing about relationships. Some are wisdoms and really resonate with me, except it is not in English. So here is the translation of the article:
You didn’t ask, I didn’t tell, this is distance
You asked, I didn’t tell, this is barrier
You asked, I told, this is trust
You didn’t ask, I told, this is dependancy
Don’t force yourself to squeeze into a world you can’t fit in. Putting others in a hardship and making yourself cheap, why do that?
Sometimes when we accidentally discover the truths, we realize those “things” we hold on so tightly seemed so ridiculous
Who doesn’t fake? Who doesn’t change? Nobody is anybody’s possession, why so serious about some people and some things?
The truth is, the one who always seems happy is the one who needs love the most
Those who care about me, I will always care you more. Those who doesn’t, why should I continue?
Do not ever change for anyone, if they cannot accept the worst of you, they are not worthy to have the best of you
Most people would think life is long, there is always opportunity in the future… some-a-day. The truth is, life is all about subtraction, every time you see a person you are using up one opportunity to see the same person, hence one less time
How others perceive you has nothing to do with you, how you live your life has nothing to do with others
How much does a pound of “face” worth? Why should we concerned about what other people?
Someday you will realize, kindness is harder than smartness. Smartness is gifted, and kindness is a choice
Disconcern doesn’t necessary mean we forgot, but certainly mean we purposely distant from each other. If we kept quiet for too long, it will take a lot of courage to even make the first contact
Don’t use hurtful words when you are in a bad mood, especially towards people who love you
Sometimes, there is no next time, there is no start all over again, there is no pause and resume. Sometimes, when you miss it now, you will never ever have a chance
Use a “happy to-” attitude to live a peaceful and joyful life
Every problem is our own problem
Sometimes even when we forgive someone, we are still not happy. That is because, we forgot to forgive ourselves
People live and die, as long as we are alive, live at the best as we can. We can live without love, we can live without brands, but we cannot live without happiness
Most people are “hard-to-get”. We take granted of the ones who loves us, cares about us, and treats us nicely. And we go after the ones who are cool, and doesn’t care much about us. In the end, the we are the ones who got hurt badly
