I finished watching Reunited and I enjoyed it a lot, but I am very concerned with that next episode preview.

Are they seriously doing this? Are they going to say the Diamonds did not know the corruption wave would corrupt Gems? Are they going to give them the same sympathy treatment as Pink, even though Blue (and probably Yellow) clearly wanted to obliterate all Gems on Earth??

and it doesn’t seem like they’re gonna bubble her away again, since in this episode 1. they admitted the crystal gems were wrong to do that and 2. they admitted she was right about her criticisms of rose and 3. she and steven talked it out so I can’t imagine them coming to blows again, so it seems to me like they’re done vilifying her

Oh, and I'm glad they didn't destroy/kill the Cluster ... because wouldn't that be similar to saying that the only cure for mental illness is death? I have no idea how they'll reform it, if it even comes back at all, but I hope their solution isn't to kill it.

To be honest I never really saw The Cluster as an allegory for mental illness. I think that fits corrupted gems much better. The Cluster, for me at least, was always just an example of the atrocities that Homeworld was willing to commit. It was proof that they didn’t value the gems under the command of The Diamonds, even in death.

Ugh,.. it’s really disgusting that they included that horrid human zoo. Those things were real life atrocities on innocent humans and I’m completely disgusted that the Crewniverse thinks that it was a good idea to put that in a CHILDREN’s show. Why do corrupted gems of the same kind have their gems all in the same place? All the corrupted quartzes have it on their chest, all of the Nephrite’s had it as their eye. Wouldn’t the gem placement be different or is it just a massive coincidence that they all had the same exact placement

How I feel about this character: Now here’s a character I can really dislike :D. Gosh even with the big reveal of her being manipulated I still can’t get into how high and mighty she is all the time, and how often we have to see it. We get it, she has problems. Everyone in this show does. How about instead of acting like her issues are the only one’s that matter maybe we should acknowledge an undeveloped character for a change? *cough cough* Everyone except Pearl *cough* 

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Nobody. She’s got too many problems within herself that any relationship she ends up with seems like it’ll end in a “Wahh feel bad for me!” fest. She should fix her crap first

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Nobody really. She’s pretty mush taken advantage of every friend she’s ever had at this point, and is part of the reason they’re all so messed up soo…nah

My unpopular opinion about this character: I never like Pearl from the beginning so I can’t really say I believe she deserves better. I just can’t stand the “uptight, thinks they know everything” character trope.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.: I wish she had been more motherly, instead of dumping all her problems on Steven, constantly reminding him she didn’t even want him to be born. I wish she hadn’t aided in the murder of countless gems because she loved her slave owner. I wish she had been called out for all the times she had done wrong and just cried about it, actually suffering long term consequences because sometimes a “Sorry ;-;” isn’t enough. I wish there was less focus on her.

I think what ultimately makes me dislike the, “Rose being Pink Diamond,” twist is that almost all of my favorite scenes in the show are filled with cringe now. And I get that’s what they were going for but when practically everything I liked about the show is now made bad thanks to a plot twist, what’s the point of me staying invested in the series anymore?

Why Lars & Sadie has been yIKES (4 me):

-Lars is not interested, he has never been, but Sadie is a quirky white girl who doesn’t talk to anyone, and it’s always made to look like this potential relationship is an obligation on Lars’ behalf.

-The “Lars and the cool kids” ep looks like, aside from Lars being mean and irresponsible (like the crew made him every appearance), trying to hang out with ppl around his age, rather than obviously-older, boring Sadie.

-The Island Ep, where Sadie traps Steven and Lars on a remote island, then manipulates Lars into having feelings for her, then shoved him down a cliff for kissing her— as if her crusty ass didn’t orchestrate the entire thing! Re: an adult trapped two younger teenage boys in the middle of no where so she could have a fantasy played out, then punished the kid for falling for her mind games! How sweet! /s

-Lars ’ self esteem issues are used only to have him act poorly toward others, for someone else’s emotional arc. (Usually Steven or Sadie’s. Mainly Sadie.)

- Lars, despite some feelings since being groomed on the island, could not be more clear he doesn’t wna have end game with Sadie, but the relationship has been reinforced by Steven the whole series— even having Steven possess Lars’ body to reinforce the relationship! Bc ig No doesn’t mean No if others know what’s best for you (su logic)

-They literally don’t let him move on from her until they kill him off, whitewash him, and rewrite his personality so he’s just a walking pun. Until he’s in space and only serves as Steven’s convenient portal to hw. BUT NOT BEFORE they show us him being jealous over Sadie and her new band.

-They really let this predatory white woman be the one to hang out with the cool kids, making them a band where she complains abt work and tells off her mommy

-We don’t know their official ages, but Sadie is a canon adult, and Lars literally never struck me as anything more than a teenage boy working with said adult. I can’t remember if we saw a report card of his or anything but yea.
