it is so important that you are a little bit ugly. please get comfortable with having unplucked eyebrows and nonexistent jawlines and wrinkles. let your blue hair grow out into an uneven pale green and your clothes be old and mend them and modify them until they’re unique to you. wear lipstick which doesnt compliment your skintone and mismatched outfits which went out of fashion 5 years ago. be a little bit too loud and a little bit too passionate and as weird as you can be because oh my god there is nothing more disturbing to me than perfection. beauty is manufactured and sold to us and you need to realise that you are a fucking animal to live a joyful life I am so serious. you cant obsess over aesthetics forever please just live messily and make your body your home however you please.

if you dont do it for you, do it for all the teenagers who will see u in the street and know that they are not obligated to be attractive

Today on another episode of things that will never stop being funny:

Benedict who was totally planning to marry the Lady in silver while keeping Sophie as a mistress.

That's like Colin planning to marry Lady Whistledown and keep Penelope as a mistress.

Or like Anthony planning to marry the mystery rider in the park and keep Kate as a mistress.

At least Gregory had the pseudo right idea. He was totally planning on becoming Lucy's mistress if he couldn't stop the wedding and she did end up married to Haselby.

My point is that the Bridgerton boys are lucky they're pretty because there's no way their brains was the main attraction for their wives

First look at BRIDGERTON Season 3

I have been rewatching season one of the series, and the more I get into it the more I dislike the direction Shonda has taken with most of the characters. Especially in how she has portrayed Colin and Pen's relationship. I think that adding the Marina romance -insert eyeroll here- cheapened what will be Colin and Pen's story.

Part of the best thing about their relationships in the novel is that Colin was never interested in or loved anyone else. He didn't wake up one day and magically fall in love with Pen, but he also didn't choose her as a secondary option to a duplicitous woman. I hate hate hate that she wrote season one Colin as infatuated with Marina when in actuality he really wanted nothing more than to travel and enjoy his life. When he realized he was in love with Pen it was with a steadfast certainty.

I hope that season 3 is watchable because season 2 was so bad. How can Shonda be both so good at telling stories and so bad at it at the same time?

Current read

I'm very nearly finished with An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson, and I'm loving it. -Recommended for ages 14 and up -Action-packed -World building -Court intrigue in the faerie realm -Fantasy fiction One thing I really love about how Rogerson writes is that her narrative doesn't feel forced or rushed. It was something that inspired me to pick this book up after I read Vespertine. The concept of magic and craft in An Enchantment of Ravens is a really interesting take on the dynamic between humans and fae.
