When Yoshimi began to slip into consciousness, they almost didn’t want to get up. The memory foam of the bed provided a sweet comfort that the On-Call mattresses back at the hospital didn’t quite provide. Wait- those mattresses don’t have memory foam. Nor the mattress at their house. Yoshimi leapt out of the bed with extreme caution.

“Where am I?” they asked no one in particular. They scanned the unfamiliar surroundings and quickly left the mysterious room. There aren’t any answers there, for now. Maybe They’ll find someone outside that would help them understand the situation.

Walking around the halls and meeting all these new people is so fun! Everyone’s interesting so far, it’s cool! She looked around, and sees someone in a doctors coat. So cool!!! Skipping over to them, she smiled and waved,

“Hello!! My name is Akiko Keiji, who are you?”

The girl’s bright greeting nearly blinded Yoshimi with how pure she seemed. Akiko, as she claimed her name was, looked a bit too enthusiastic with the situation they were in.

“Oh, uh, my names Yoshimi Kahae.”

Aki nodded at their introduction, that’s a cool name! But now it’s time for the real questions.

“It’s nice to meet you! Are you like, a doctor or something? What’s up with the coat?” She turned her head to the side and looked at the coat more intensely than you think someone would look at a coat, very interested.

Yoshimi, a bit stunned from Akiko’s attention on the coat versus the situation, nodded silently and look down at their appearance.

“Uh, yeah. I’m a doctor. The coat is pretty comfy so I wear it around a lot.”

They tried shrugging off the confrontation and wanted to know what was going on. Though, they weren’t sure if she knew what was going on either.

“Hey, Akiko, do you know where we are?” They asked, preparing for a negative answer.

“A doctor? That’s so neat!! I’m a forensic pathologist, so it’s kinda similar stuff, except like, I work with.. dead bodies and you work with live ones!” She giggles, she loves meeting people with similar hobbies!

“No, I don’t sadly! I’m just as confused as you are~”

“Haha, well, I prefer it that the ones I work with stay alive.” They grinned. Their grin slowly fell when Yoshimi heard her reply. Figures as much. “Ah man, that sucks then.”

Yoshimi ran an hand through their hair and began brain storming. Maybe they all were at the same bar and all got really black-out drunk together, wandered to some weird building and woke up?

“It’d be nice if the ones I work with were alive, it’d help us solve cases and stuff!” She laughs, smiling at the thought. Like in the show pushing daisies, bring them back just to tell us how they died and then just touch them again so they can rest!

Aki starts thinking for a bit, then has an idea, “Oh! We can try and see if theres a way out..? I haven’t had a chance to look around too much!”

Hearing this, Yoshimi perked up a bit. Serves them right for jumping to conclusions too quickly! "Alright. Let's go look then. Maybe we can find a back door or an office." They said with a bit of hope.

Now Jed is a reasonable guy. He’s not all that quick to anger, and he usually tries to see the bright side of things. His current situation isn’t the Best, but it could be Worse.Way Worse. Waking up in a strange place you don’t remember being in is certainly….odd. But it could be he just passed out from being sick. That seems about right from what he remembers. Maybe something he ate didn’t agree with him and someone was nice enough to carry him to his new room. For now he will Grin and Bear it until he figures out just what in tarnation is going on. Maybe he’ll make some friends. He gets up and leaves his room, looking around until he sees someone, waving them over. “Howdy there! Do ya happen to know what’s happenin’ here?”

Yoshimi had just left their room when the obvious cowboy walked up to them. They eyed up the man with surprise. A cowboy? In this day and age? "Sorry. Cant say that I do." They said a bit distantly. Yoshimi couldnt hold it in. They needed to know for a fact, "Are you um....like, a real cowboy?"

Seeing everyone interact made Yoshimi feel like they were one of the last people to get up. They were slightly embarrassed but they know they’ll get over it eventually. There were more important things at hand anyways.

Yoshimi glanced over and saw someone make their way towards them. The stranger’s friendly smile cause Yoshimi’s own frown twitch up a bit.

“Yeah, I just woke up a few minutes ago and honestly I’ve got no clue what’s going on.” They admitted.

Lucas sighed “Yeah it seems like everyone around here is saying the same thing… its sorta odd really.”

He shook his head to try and get away the scared thoughts and plastered a nice smile on his face. Its not best to acted stressed out. Things will go better soon. He has a feeling they will.

“Im Lucas by the way! Whats your name?”

Feeling a slight infection from Lucas’s smile, Yoshimi smiled back.

“Figures that no one would know what’s happening. That’d make things easier for us wouldn’t it?” They chuckled out. “I’m Yoshimi. Nice to meet you.”

Yoshimi placed their hands in the pockets of the coat and looked around, taking note of everyone they saw. “So…what uh, what do you do?” Small talk isn’t really their forté, but there wasn’t much else for Yoshimi to say.

And oh well haha i skate? like skate boarding and stuff.” he laughs and sticks his hands into his jacket pockets. “Like i do skate competitions and all those cool tricks you see people do. But like i make real money off of it! Its crazy cool. Im totally living the dream.” he sticks out his tounge and does the little ‘rock and role’ hand sign and laughs.

“What about you? I bet its something more real than me haha”

"Oh so like Tony Hawk." Yoshumi said almost instantly. They struggled to bite back their laughter, but failed as a few chuckles were let loose. "As for me. I'm a doctor. It's not as creative as your career path I'll tell you that. And I dont get mich sleep either." They sighed and shrugged.

He doesn’t like not knowing where he is, or not knowing the people around him. Stresses him the fuck out. He sees someone out of the corner of his eye. He’s not as angry as he was earlier, just a bit on edge now. Maybe if he’s lucky (And Nice), he can ask this person if they have any. It might’ve just been him who got robbed, with his luck. He waves them over “Yo. You have any cigarrettes? Or, y’know, a way out? I’ll take either. Or both.”

Yoshimi didn’t really like the vibe that they got from this place. The killer headache they had wasn’t exactly helping out either.

“Yo. You got any cigarettes?” They nearly jumped out if their skin and whirled around to face the guy who nearly gave them a heart attack.

“Uh, no. I don’t have either of those. In fact, I don’t even know how I got here in the first place.” They explained after calming down slightly. Maybe he could be of some help.

“Damn. I was hopin’ for some. Don’t be so jumpy. We’re all in the same boat right now. Seems everyone woke up the same way, with no memory of how we got here.” Ghhhh why does Danny keep running into wimpy dudes? This guy looks like he’d keel over if Danny even blinked at him wrong.

Yoshimi rubbed their head and sighed. Figures that nobody knew what was going on. “Sorry, just woke up and you startled me a bit is all.” They explained. “So, you know how many of us there are?”

“Well I saw and talked to a few other guys, saw a really tall chick talking with a smaller girl, and a few other people. I think there’s maybe 15? 16 people from what I’ve seen so far. There’s a shower room and a bathroom, but no exit. Just a locked hallway. I tried peeking through, but it was all dark.” He sighs. “I’m gonna fight whoever decided this was funny”

They sighed as well. The "situation," as Yoshimi starts mentally calling it, was really odd. 16 people in a strange building with locked hallways? It honestly sounds like the beginning to a bad B-rated horror movie.
