Did I take a wrong turn somewhere?
Is it to your liking?

"Ahahaha.. How thoughtful.."
The both of them were happy with her husband's.. Capabilities. So much so that such things hardly ever crossed their minds. But seeing one now. One that... Size..
She.. Didn't need that. Neither of them did.
Happy anniversary Miss Miyoshi, here's a gift for you and your husband. đ
-Tragen
"Oh-!"
Huh, she didn't expect to get a gift this year from anyone.. Maybe she could pretend this is her gift for her beloved.
"Thank you so much~!" With a hum, she opened the box.
"Amai~ Amai~ Amai~"
Amai raised both hands high and waved, always more than happy to see a friend once more.
@ichi-peachy
Lily.
She remembered Ichi saying she needed to wake up the child. It was why she woke up alone, according to the analytic at least. Yet⌠For her to be here.. Did that mean she was in her home? Being kept somewhere like their basement felt bittersweet; far better than somewhere completely random entirely.
âItâs locked.â She was quick to sign before pointing to the bolts on the grate. Unlike her older sister, Amai knew well that Lily understood sign language, making it easier for her to communicate and to keep her words from unwanted, prying ears.
âBut are you okay? Where are we?â
Although she was disappointed she wouldnât be hearing her friendâs voice again, it was still more than okay since she was getting to see Amai anyways. Well, there was a very metallic barrier between them, but if she pressed against it enough it was almost like she was really with Amai.
âIâm okay, just sleepy. And, weâre home?â
That last bit seemed to confuse Lily, who couldnât see the looming metal door from where she was. Clearly as far as the girl knew, Amai was in a room she simply didnât know about. The little guardianâs eyes looked through the room, trying to figure out where the wife may be from her perspective. All she could really see was an army of stuffed animals, a bookcase, and round table with treats on it.
âDo you like my plushies?â
Amai looked back at the plushies that laid sprawled out on the futon she had abandoned. She hadnât pegged Ichi as being a fan of little plushies like those and at this point she was half expecting them to be bought for this special occasion: out of the supposed goodness of her heart. If not that, then her next guess was that they were for her little friend. At least she would have been right about that.
âI do.â
Amai took one at random and hugged it into her lap, taking solace in it as she would have to Lily if she was allowed to. She would have held it out to her to return but.. you know. After checking back (again) to make sure Ichi wouldnât be returning, she signed to Lily once more.
âWhy are you in the vents?â
Amai holding one of the plushies seemed to please Lily very much, who seemed rather happy they had been relocated somewhere with her friend. Maybe she could share more with her friend, or show them Mochi and Bean so they wouldnât be lonely.Â
âI wanted to explore the house, itâs a lot bigger than our old one. Thereâs more hallways and rooms than before, and lots of space to play outside. I found a vent that was really easy to open, and I wanted to see where it went.âÂ
Well, now she figured out it lead somewhere down leading to Amai. It was strange though, since the basement didnât have any doors or hallways that led anywhere other than a storage room. Lily had no idea how she would find Amaiâs room, itâd probably be best to ask Ichi for help.
Speaking of which, the door made a creak as it was pushed open. The analytic had returned with a folded Yukata with a pen and notepad right on top of it. She didnât question why Amai was close to the vent, more disappointed that the macaroons were left untouched. Still, kneeling down she put the items requested in front of her.
Lily didnât bother to hide herself, curious as to who else was there with Amai. It was a bit hard to see at this angle, but maybe if she pressed against the wallâŚ
Amai quickly turned away from the vent the moment she heard the door open, adjusting herself ever so slightly to hide Lily away from Ichi's sight but, in the process, hiding Ichi away from Lily's sight.
Her gaze bounced between the analytic and the bundle she had returned. The relief of being able to wear her clothing she was comfortable with once more easing off her shoulders in a sigh. Amai bowed once in thanks but would bow even further down in a silent 'apology' for making her fetch her things.
There was hesitation in her hands as she pulled the yukata closer. It wasn't exactly hers.. But she'd make do with it. She's lived long enough to know how to properly tie one without the assistance of others, so she didn't need to turn to Ichi for help tying it.
She looked up from where she sat in a silent plead for another brief moment of privacy. The thought of having to change in front of both Ichi and Lily was not one she was willing to make a reality. The latter she could simply ask to turn away, that would have been no problem for her. But as for the other... Solitude was much more preferred...
Can you wait outside so I can change?
Was the first thing she wrote on the notepad, accompanying the little note with a doodle of a pleading face.
Please?
"Amai~ Amai~ Amai~"
Amai raised both hands high and waved, always more than happy to see a friend once more.

Moving aside the sliding door the wife was greeted with a harsh wall of light, emitted from a screen the same size. It became much brighter with the doors pushed aside, becoming uncomfortable to look at. The screen fitted tightly against the walls surrounding it, only suited to be artifical lighting. Of course, the lack of any windows or real sunlight probably made it feel more suffocating.
Moments after the wifeâs realization did the metallic door make a sound. A click and groan as it was pushed open, only cracked slightly. It concealed the guestâs identity for a moment until those familiar pink eyes and strands of white hair peered in through the gap.
âYouâre awake! Are you comfortable? Do you like the room? Ah, you shouldnât have opened the sliding doorsâŚâ
They were meant to simulate there being an outside⌠as long as they were closed. And since it was supposed to be âmorning,â the lights were powered on rather brightly, having yet to dim. Nevertheless, Ichi still stepped into the room while closing the heavy door behind her.
The clicking noise behind the door sent a cold shiver up her spine. Someone was here and by god was she not going to have her back to them so freely. Amai turned her back to the light, her eyes refocusing on the intruder the person behind her new cell.
⌠Ichi?
Why was she here? She began to wonder, though that felt like a dumb question considering she didnât know why she herself was here. But the question for her analytic soon turned to âwhy did she come from that door?â Hell, why was that door there in the first place? Or the vent or, well, anything?
Each time Amai tried to rationalize or figure out their situation, so many more questions would replace them.
To make matters just the slightest bit worse, she couldnât communicate. No pen. No paper. There was not even enough macarons for her to shape into a message one word at a time. With no other choice, she looked at Ichi in confusion with her hands held up motioned to the room.
What is all of this?
The thought that her friend would hold her hostage felt too cartoonish to be real, like something that would happen in a Phoenix Wright game. Though, if this was her sick beginnings in such a game, sheâd hate to know what her fate would be considering that itâs a murder mystery gameâŚ
âIâm sorry, I shouldnât have left you to wake up somewhere new alone. I wanted to wait with you but I had to wake Lily up and make her something to eat, since sheâd stay up late if I didnât wake her up early.â
Ichi looked genuinely sorry while she made those excuses. It was probably a little scary to wake up somewhere completely new, but thatâs why she surrounded the bed with stuffed animals. It wouldâve probably provided some comfort.
They were so casual about what they were doing it probably added to the sense of surrealism, like this kidnapping was just a way to spend a bit of time with Amai.
Despite the wifeâs inability to properly communicate, her friend didnât provide any better alternative. Truthfully, Ichi preferred this slightly more. Not that she found Amaiâs writing to be annoying, it was just easier to move things along without any sort of direct protest from her.
So the analytic approached her friend, embracing her forcefully before dropping them both back onto the bed. Despite her caution, some of the plushies still scattered from the intrusion.
âI made this room for you! I didnât know what you liked or how exactly you wanted it, but I tried! It took a while but now we can stay together. Because you love me, right?â
Ichi looked at Amai with an excited expectation. The eyes that clearly looked hopeful despite a very unfortunate miscommunication. Eyes that expected a response as welcoming as the loving embrace she gave the wife.
L-Love..?
Amai loved all her friends, best friends, casual friends, even acquaintences, she loved all of them. Thatâs just who she was.. But the lovestruck look in her eyes was easily expecting something completely different. Amai loved Ichi, like she did with everyone else. She didnât see her that way. She didnât see anyone that way..
Her eyes flickered back and forth between the rose walls that surrounded her and the rose eyes that stared at her, expecting an answer that she didnât want to give. But she couldnât say no, could she? Ichi wouldnât let her say no, now would sheâŚ?
Amai tried to calm her nerves, but the shaken smile she gave Ichi wasnât doing her any justice. It was far from convincing, and even further away from welcoming.
Ichi took Amaiâs silence as affirmation, not wanting to read it as anything else. Then what about the shaky smile? Amai was just a little nervous of course! Who wouldnât be in such a completely new situation. Thatâs why the analytic held her girlfriend a little tighter, wanting to provide comfort.
âI⌠mightâve overreacted a little, but thatâs only because I thought you were going to say no! And I already prepared everything over here, so I thought I might as well bring you here. I mean, isnât it comfy? You can think of it like an extended sleepover! If thereâs anything youâre missing I can bring it to you.â
This was all too much to take in at one time, but was there any other way to package it? Drugged, kidnapped and now kept in some strange place for an âextended sleepoverâ.
She didnât know what to ask for, nor would she even be given it if Ichi didnât like it. But she needed something, to take back what sense of comfort had been forcibly stripped from her and to get a moment to herself to think.
Amai tapped at Ichiâs back and carefully tugged from her embrace as to not alarm her. Once she was given her space, she held up hands hands as if to write on a notepad; once that messaged had gotten through, she pinched at the white t-shirt before motioned downwards to her legs. The two things that she wanted were simple, a pen and paper to communicate and her kimono back. She would feel so much more comfortable with her clothing back.
The experiment gave Amai space, even if it was with a disappointed expression at first. Of course Ichi understood what Amai wanted by observing her hand expressions, but she didnât really want to give her those things. Still, if it would help Amai get more accustomed to her current situation then it probably couldnât be helped.
âOkay, Iâll be right back. Stay here.â
So the analytic picked herself up leaving her friend on the bed. Of course her last sentence served more as a warning than it did a suggestion. Moving back towards the door, she opened it up once more. Behind it was another small space with two more doors, one wooden one made of the same metal. Naturally Ichi closed the door before the wife could see which she entered.
This left Amai alone with her thoughts, and with no clock around and the only way to tell âtimeâ through the artifical light, it was probably a pretty dull wait. There were books and snacks left around, but who knew if those were worth indulging in given what happened last time.
The return of life didnât come from the looming gray door, but rather from the vent behind the bed. The sound of something hitting metal before something moving around. It was too small for Ichi to fit through, but there was enough space for an animal to worm its way in forcefully..
Once the door was closed, the tension in her shoulders was released in one long shutter. Despite Ichi's best efforts to making her new life as comfortable for her as they possibly could, she only gave the opposite effect. No part of her wanted to stay here, helpless and alone. Hell, dare she say that she'd prefer to go back to her village, where she was at least free to roam the grounds and the forests that surrounded it, than to stay here.
There was a part of her that didn't want to hurt her friend's twisted feelings.. But she couldn't stay cooped up in a place like this, and would take any chance to not return to the life she had before she ran away from home. And the noises that came from the vent sounded like her best option to do so.
There didn't seem to be any cameras in the room.. And hopefully it would take Ichi some time before they'd return with her things. She turned her back to the metal doors and bent down into the mouth of the vent.
Her hoarse voice barely above a whisper, Amai called out to whoever or whatever was on the other side.
"Is someone there?.. Hello?"
Ah so you know Maggie! I'm gonna assume you've asked for her help on how duck-caring works?
"Maggie is a friend of ours. She comes by every so often to hang out with Amai and the others. But, yeah, she knows we've taken in some ducks."
Some was an understatement.
"Gave us a booklet of things to consider when caring for them, including affordable duck feed brands and where to find them. She was really happy to share with us what she knew. But I don't think she knows that we can't exactly fit them all in my backyard."
"Amai~ Amai~ Amai~"
Amai raised both hands high and waved, always more than happy to see a friend once more.

What is going on... Why is she acting this way?
She wasn't doing the best... There were multiple reasons for her to feel sick it was just a matter of her taking her pick.
I hear there's a girl trying to become an ultimate who could help you with that

What's it like being the father to an absurd amount of ducks?
Fujio let out one of the deepest sighs he's ever had in a very long while. Nothing about it could be seen as remotely positive but he still kept up his usual smile, almost laughing to himself at the absurdity of his new children.
"They're cute when they're not screaming at each other."
Fujio, how much does a polar bear weight?
Enough to break the ice, hi I'm Kuma
The joke did get a genuine chuckle out of him. With Lola around, it's a surprise he hasn't heard that one yet.
"That's a good one..! And it's nice to meet you, Kuma. I'm Fujio, though you already knew that."

Amai turned back the plate of macarons for guidance, wondering what to make of her question. It wasnât uncommon for friends to hang out on Valentineâs but it was an interesting thing to ask right after asking if she was single and was she ready to mingle. That much she can put together.
She could take another of the lavender-strawberry ones, safely enjoying the taste she had just acquainted her with. Or she could venture out and try one of the blue ones, getting to know a flavor she had no experience with. Her hand hovered over the tray, inches away from making its choice. But, after some âcarefulâ pandering, it scooped up the said greenish blue treat.
Amai smiled, turning to Ichi with an ever excited nod, and mouthed 'Iâd love to!â
I love you!
Unfortunately that was how the analytic interpreted the wifeâs motions, which was more due to delusion rather than any sort of mistake. But Ichiâs excitement couldâve easily been noted as her happy Amai wanted to spend time together.
âI love you too! I know just the place we can go~â
Did those words even reach Amai? Maybe it was due to being tired, or maybe she had simply zoned out for a moment, but it was beginning to feel increasingly difficult to concentrate.
The green/blue macaroon stayed steady in her hand, although it was beginning to blend in with everything else. Blueberry/Apple flavor awaited her, temptingly so. The analyticâs rose colored eyes focused on Amai, dreamy smile on her face.
Her hold on the sweet tightened, her fingers rubbing against its crusted shell but, strangely enough, she could feel none of it. No.. She couldnât even feel the hand she was holding it with. It wasnât numb, it was just.. Gone in her head.
Little by little she slowly started to lose feeling in her body. The feet that fit snuggly in her socks; the knees that were desperate to keep her upright; the pits of her stomach that twisted itself in confusion as to whether it was full or completely empty; the heart that beated passionately against her ears fearful of what was happening (and the lack of knowledge thereof); and, finally, her sky blue eyes that lost focus of its surroundings, each blink falling slower and slower as she struggled to stay awake.
âIchi..?â Was the last Amai could muster, her hand weakly reaching out to her friend in an attempt to keep her from falling back before she would eventually lose sight of that too.
âOh, whoops.â
When Amaiâs eyes finally closed, the tip of Ichiâs hair finally extended to catch the wife around her waist. Carefully holding her friend to ensure they didnât hit the floor. In all honesty, she expected to get rejected. It was why she drugged the macaroons beforehand. After all, she wasnât good enough for her previous girlfriend to even trust her. Thatâs why she thought Amai would needed a little extra convincing. Turned out she was wrong, and she almost felt a little bad.
But! Amai said her name! Oh, how euphoric. The rush of joy made her physically tremble for a moment, though she contained her excessive energy afterwards to think. Well, Amai was already unconscious, and she already prepared for (and only for) the worst case scenario. Itâd be a waste of effort not to follow through.
What wouldâve been the ideal environment for Amai? Well, Ichi could only guess. She did her best, especially since this was going to be Amaiâs room for a long time.Â
The bedroom itself was like a traditional Japanese bedroom. The colors had been augmented so that pink was the most prominent color, although it was soft as to not become an eyesore. It was pretty empty all things considered, having table and cushions in one corner and a small bookshelf in another. On the opposite wall laid the wife, placed on a futon and properly tucked in with blankets. A variety of stuffed animals surrounded the mattress, varying from shades of red to pink. The wall to the right had sliding door with yellow light emitting from the other side, imitating the morning sun.Â
The more⌠odd decisions were the metallic door to the left, a passcode that required the proper digits to be entered. The vent behind her also stood out, having shades of gray that juxtaposed the soft roomâs appearance. It was bigger than a vent should be, but not big enough for a teenager to fit through. Besides, it was screwed on tightly. Lastly, the analytic had taken the liberty of making her friend more comfortable. And by that, she meant helping the unconscious Amai change into pajamas that consisted of and only of a slightly oversized white shirt.Â
There was a cup of water and macaroons awaiting on the table though.
The sense of nostalgia was not what she expected to wake up to. Left on her side with her once sleeping form unable to escape the firmness of matted flooring. Mixed with the sounds of nature not even 10 feet away, she could have easily mistaken her surroundings as home. Not the house she stayed in with her best friend, mind you. But the village she once lived in with the rest of her family; where her mornings were just as serene as this and her day to be started by the not so soft kneading her giant cloud of a dog would give her chest.
Time went on and no such greeting would come to her, leaving her to stir and finally open her eyes. The familiar sense of ease was cruelly ripped from her at the sight of the room. Though the style was similar to the room she grew up in; the colors, the decor, none of it was remotely the same. She shot up to get a better look at the place, her head turning every which way in hopes of finding any clues about where she was.
Her eyes locked onto the metal door, it's color clashing harshly against the soft hues of the rest of the room. Her stomach started to churn as she continued to stare; unable yo look away as if someone would walk through it if she dared to look away.

Amai sighed, a little bit relieved that no one came through (for now at least) . But that didn't exactly ease her from the rest of her worries.
Where am I..? She thought to herself, her gaze slowly drifting to the other door. It's morning but.. Last thing she could even remember, it was just hitting the afternoon..
How long have I been asleep?
It was only after pushing herself to her feet would she notice that she no longer dawned the checkered kimono she'd usually wear and the shirt she was wearing wasn't even hers. And the thought that someone could have seen her bare (with or without underwear) made her sick..
Unlike the other, it looked like she was able to open the sliding door.
Maybe I should get some fresh air.. That'll help...
"Amai~ Amai~ Amai~"
Amai raised both hands high and waved, always more than happy to see a friend once more.

Amai turned back the plate of macarons for guidance, wondering what to make of her question. It wasn't uncommon for friends to hang out on Valentine's but it was an interesting thing to ask right after asking if she was single and was she ready to mingle. That much she can put together.
She could take another of the lavender-strawberry ones, safely enjoying the taste she had just acquainted her with. Or she could venture out and try one of the blue ones, getting to know a flavor she had no experience with. Her hand hovered over the tray, inches away from making its choice. But, after some 'careful' pandering, it scooped up the said greenish blue treat.
Amai smiled, turning to Ichi with an ever excited nod, and mouthed 'I'd love to!'
