Me over here shocked to see a notif from this one only to realize you put the pull on a whole bunch of your blogs
I’m sorry for that!! I reblogged that here because Overwatch is a fandom I still love from my time in it, and I figure it was worthwhile to let followers know that Overwatch would be a fandom I would write for if I opened the shop!
Not dependent on the responses, but I’m curious to get some general feedback!
I am interested in opening a small shop (via Etsy or another service, still deciding upon that) that will offer letters and a pen pal service for fictional characters across all fandoms I am familiar and experienced with.
These letters could be in a digital or physical form, customized and decorated, and may even come with small handmade trinkets for the fandom or character. A pen pal service would be offered in tandem for those who would like to reply to the letters, which then would of course feel further personalized because of that back-and-forth communication.
It’s a venture I’ve wanted to try for several years, especially since I’ve myself used similar services a time or two previously, and it was a lovely experience to receive a letter from a character I liked! I feel it’s a nice way to try and spread some kindness in the world in a way that utilizes the skills I’ve inadvertently grown in the last decade.
Would you be interested if I opened a shop that offered products and services like that?

You can't blame the man for being forward--given the fact that his sense of physical touch is dulled at best and nonexistent at worst, Genji's careful groping is a talent all in itself. The combined warmth of his chest at your back and his hands cupping your breasts is more than enough to make your breathing hitch and heartbeat skip.
"Right now?" you ask, body still and mind rolling through the fact that you're standing right in the middle of the kitchen--no more than a few steps away from the fridge in your short journey for a snack. "You could ambush me at literally any point in the day and you choose now?"
"I don't see how now is better or worse than any other point of time," the man muses behind you, breath hot against the shell of your ear as his hands continue to press and grope without a single ounce of shame. His fingertips press into the give of your flesh beneath what suddenly seems like a too-thin shirt. When they deftly stroke over sensitive nipples, it's impossible to contain the audible gasp passing over your lips.
"Aha," Genji chuckles, sounding all too mischievous for your liking in the moment. "Now that's a noise I like hearing. But maybe you're right--maybe right now isn't a good time at all."
He's barely lifted his hands away from your chest before an almost-instinctive, needy sound eeks from between your lips--and then before you can think to say anything at all, his hands press back, groping needily over your breasts as his fingertips pinch and roll pert nipples between them and the fabric of your shirt; the mere touch seems erotic, making you wonder just how much you want to preserve the sanctity of your kitchen in light of how horny Genji seems to be today.
A snack certainly sounds nice--and not just the one in the fridge, after all.

I certainly can't guarantee anything specific to come of a renewed love for ye olde Overwatch, but I can't deny that it was THE first fandom I made a writing blog for, and much of the friendships and connections I have are literally from the time and effort I put into this blog and in the fandom at large.
Will certainly be fun to see where things go with five years of new writing and life experience ontop of everything! :D

I'm honestly gonna need to rewatch some of those shorts, because I think that might have been released juuuust after I stopped really keeping up with Overwatch content. But I have to agree in general that he is indeed a silly lil' man, like-

And for anyone (including me) who would like to watch it, here's the short!
this is supreme self indulgence and i feel dirty thinking about this but:
trans older shimada brother who was meant to be the head of the clan, but then hanzo was born and was given that role instead, and the brother get ever so slightly jealous because he felt like his opportunity was taken away just because of who he was born as.
the older shimada brother grew up somewhat resenting hanzo and started to drift further from him and closer to genji instead, and hanzo watched as his older brother began to avoid him, not understanding what he did to weaken their relationship.
then there's genji, who was the person the older brother turned to for comfort, and just be there for the brother to vent to and be vulnerable. the brother, despite not being the heir anymore, still have responsibilities in the clan, in addition to his feelings of resentment towards hanzo and guilt for feeling that way, and would turn to genji to find relief.
genji, however, could see how his brother's mixed feelings towards hanzo were both affecting him and hanzo, and decided they had to sit down and talk.
it ended up being a very long and emotional conversation, with them opening up about their feelings and listening to and understanding the other's struggles and they all left the room feeling much lighter than before.
after that, their relationships began to repair. the older brother spent more time with hanzo, sparring with him and giving advices when he needed it, being more experienced with the family business. hanzo's and genji's relationship also improved, caring for each other more than they were before.
then, there's the, ahem, lovemaking. older brother got that praise/degradation kink. praise him/his body and he's flushing hot. tell him how shameless he's being and he's whimpering. genji fully takes advantage of this, teasing how dripping wet he is at the slightest of touches, how disappointed their father must be for having a slut for a son, then flip and murmuring about how cute his older brother is and how he's just begging to get stuffed.
as cold and bossy as the older brother is when it comes to his job, he would practically melt into the sheets at being given commands. manhandle him and he's blabbering to try (and fail) to gain control of the situation. him and hanzo fighting for control in the bed and hanzo showing him why he's the head of the clan, exerting his strength as he pounds into his hole and silencing his shouts with his fingers, lest people in the clan find out about their little arrangement. and since this is already nasty enough, why not add in some breading kink, the brother panting for breath as hanzo's hand ghosts over his stomach, whispering about how he's going to put an heir in there, painting his insides white until it takes.
(and god help me if both younger brothers decide to dick down their older brother)

To be honest, this isn't the filthiest thing I've ever seen across fandom-space, and hardly something to feel ashamed about! I'd probably be lying if I said some of my own self-indulgent concepts didn't align somewhat with this idea--certainly a fair number of kinks do!

I may be woefully late on this, but I’m going to go back and add tags to stuff pertaining to Cole Cassidy (formerly known as McCree). I’m not going to remove the old tags, but I will be adding tags for his new name and the accepted ship names where applicable, such as for him and Hanzo (which Yeehan seems to be the most popular of choices!)
As far as I recall there hadn’t been any other name changes, but then again I am so horribly outdated on most Overwatch happenings since I was last in the fandom like... 5 years ago? 🤣 So if there’s any other tags or whatnot that need adding or updating, please let me know!

I saw that when I was perusing some of the old tags! As long as the majority of people are doing so then I'll certainly follow suit--I think it's cute! Yeehan makes a semblance of sense for the two of them and it's catchy enough to remember without too much issue 👌

I'm with you on the "dont name characters after real people" especially when the person is still alive and not just a historical figure specifically because I can't play my copy of pokemon mystery dungeon darkness bc my partner is named after my ex
I'm so sorry for that anon. I understand how a sour relationship or experience can really impact your interactions and experience with a media or fandom--it's happened to me a few times and it sucks, especially when there's a lot of emotions tied into the experience that leaves it horribly bittersweet (and/or if you have countless hours and hard work put into a game).
Attaching the name of a living person always brings with the risk of them doing something to sour the relationship or the name itself at any point in the future, so hopefully Blizzard has really learned their lesson there along with a lot of others. I'm really hoping getting bought out by Microsoft has changed (or started to change) the workplace environment severely for the better!

I'm of the mind to never purposefully name characters after real people, especially developers of the media/the character--and we can see how well *that* turned out for Blizzard--so I'm mostly content with the change since it needed to be done, even if it's gonna make my past fannish works a bit confusing (because I'm going to try and ignore the need to update his name while it's gnawing in the back of my head).
I mostly like his new name! He looks like a Cole Cassidy, and it still fits with his character, though it really should have been that way to begin with and I severely hope it sticks for future character development.
... still, as someone who shipped McHanzo a lot and now has to contend with the fact that the equivalent name is Hole is uh..... you can certainly stuff a lot of shipping emotions into it.
For real, I desperately hope someone has come up with a better ship name--and I'm honestly out of date in how people are generally reacting to the name change as well in general for him. Are people using both names? Just the new one? Should I go back and update previous works? Who knows, because I sure don't!
But God please we need a better ship name literally anything is better. Canzo? Casmada? Casanzo?

Fromwhat I can remember and see comparatively of his Blackwatch skin (the one where we see more what is covered by armor vs what is just prosthetics) he's lost his legs and right arm, while his the internals of his chest and hips are probably some portion cybernetic, given the Blackwatch design.
So that means it's both! His more 'recent' skins show that his armor is thicker than before and looks much more like it's intended to be read like armor than bare prosthetics--if you focus on his legs specifically, you can see what I mean. The same goes for his left arm, which we know is not a prosthetic but has the same armor protecting it.
His design overall I think is meant to mimic a classical ninjas garb...though maybe a little more skintight on the back end 🤣

I'm the kind of person who believes there's never quite a 'too late' when it comes to discovering and joining into fandoms.
For example, you discovered the game sometime after some horrible work practices and discrimination lawsuits came to light against Blizzard (the company who created Overwatch) and while this might not SEEM like a good thing, being part of the fandom now that it's been recently bought out by Microsoft (and fired a LOT of employees responsible for harassment) may see you supporting a game with far better employment practices than when I was supporting it back in 2016.
Here's an article detailing a lot of it, and admittedly I had to catch up with some information.
And, since Overwatch 2 is becoming a free-to-play game, technically that opens it up to be a lot more financially accessable to a lot of people--and that means new fans! I've heard it comes at the cost of them closing the original Overwatch servers, and admittedly I haven't kept up to date on stuff past maybe 2018, but I've learned that kicking yourself for being 'too late' to a fandom is never gonna help! Rejoice in coming into the fandom when we all know more about the lore and the characters, and maybe before a new wave of fans and a far better version of the company than the one that made the original game!
If nothing else, we can always say 'fuck canon' and make our own shit if it winds up being a dumpster fire--I am not above making a plethora of AUs and playing with my blorbos in the corner!

I have cross-posted all of my longer works on to my AO3, but I don’t yet know If I’ll cross-post all of my drabbles and headcanons as well. I’m working to have this (and several other of my writing blogs) backed up so I at least have all the posts themselves. If I do wind up taking the time and effort to move everything over, it certainly won’t be a secret!
