coming back to this blog because of the house of the dragon muse....also i was able to cultivate my favorite prose style here and have quite a lot of fun developing my own version of the mad queen plotline (because clearly whatever was done in the show was atrocious) so yeah :) more content incoming!! feel free to like that starter call. i'll be here tonight

drogon roars as the wind blasts her silver locks, daenerys holds him as tightly as her fingers can. braids across her back, through the sky it is the one place where she can find peace. a quiet sanctuary from the strategic meetings that plague her day, the frustration of a lannister that will not bend the knee. a kingslayer intent on protecting a tyrant rather than opening the birthright to the promised queen. she is bit a child left to destiny, a child meant to break the game of thrones before this cycle becomes too much — the rightful queen. in the sky, this is where she can find herself alone with her thoughts. alone with a council of her own. as the sky fades, she hears it. the welcoming roar. (IS THIS A DREAM OR REALITY, THIS IS WHERE IT FALLS — THE LINK BETWEEN REALITY & FALSEHOODS TOO MUCH TO BARE) her tongue slips into the ancient language, her words a warning. you who was promised. you who was doomed. there are TWO STORES : the king & the queen. daenerys targaryen the dreamer, the dragon rider. CERSEI LANNISTER IS A FOOL — she is who doomed them all, yet now daenerys can picture the iron throne with a distaste. (IT WAS MEANT TO BE YOURS. IT IS YOUR OWN BIRTHRIGHT.) for a girl birthed in fire, the cold does not suit her. the letters written bring her here, in front of the starks. the snows. what an odd name for an odd boy. the fur is tight against her skin, where she remains safe from the cold. same from them. mother..... the shadow of white haired flesh, the sound of a boys' tears, it's too much. she's cursed, a phoenix burned too bright, her ashes left to melt into the snow where jon snow would have left her body. (it was their fault. it was their fault.) daenerys targaryen is a whisper, a promised name. (the promised daughter. she was meant to be adored.) DREAMER OF DRAGONS, VISION OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS. you are hated. her hand drags to the mirror, her thin fingers dance over the glass. the portrait shifts. THE OLD TONGUE ESCAPES HER LIPS AS HER FACES TWISTS — the half year queen merges with herself, her mother becomes rhaenyra — herself a mirror. Throughout the show, there have been these glorious moments of Daenerys taking on a very strong role in a battle or in a decision to be made. There were these wonderful moments when she takes control, and it’s really liberating and beautiful. She frees people, she kills the baddies, and it feels good.

And, I must admit, I was sitting tentatively on that chair thinking, How long is this going to last? Everyone was saying, “Isn’t she great? She’s our savior, Mhysa.” It’s been beautiful and amazing, but I’ve been looking over my shoulder the entire time while everyone else gets a more human—for want of a better word—story line. They do good things. They do bad things. They do silly things. They do brilliant things. They fall in love. They break hearts. Daenerys has quite consistently had this road to salvation, and she’s been sitting atop a very safe mountain.

I’ve always wanted to warm her up, because I’ve seen the more feminine aspects of her. I’m not saying that as anything derogatory at all. But she was a child. She was sold. She grew up around a life that was written for her. She was on the run her entire life. She lost every single person that meant anything to her. She was brought up by a brother who was telling her why her family had been taken from her, because people haven’t allowed them to inhabit the Iron Throne.

So that’s always been her mission and, at every turn, she’s sacrificed everything. She sacrificed being a mother. She sacrificed love. She sacrificed happiness. She sacrificed an easy life. She sacrificed friends. She sacrificed everything to be the ruler that she believes herself to be. And, with each next step up that ladder—with each next mass killing, with each bad person that she kills, for every ten good people that she saves, for putting her friends and her lovers in harm’s way—each step up that ladder has just solidified her course towards sitting on top of the Iron Throne. 

Because then it will all have been worth it.

FLASH GRAPHICS SALE!! : i've spoken a little about this across various blogs in the past few weeks but the past month has been disaster after disaster... and on top of all of this my rent has now gone up just under $300. As a result I am reopening commissions - more specifically, with a 33% reduction on my promo commission rate ; $10 AUD (approximately $6.50 USD) for a 2 paneled promo.

the one qualifier here is that i will be requesting payment upfront. i've had a few situations where people have not paid me in full, and while i'm usually understanding in this case i actually really need to be paid so i can cover my rent for this month. equally, i'm happy to discuss more in depth blog makeovers with a similar price reduction!
