12 years, huh? Not posting like I used.
Just goofing around with watercolor #porchdoodles #windsorandnewton #watercolor
Playing with the crochet plaid for beginners from craftinghappiness.com. I've been playing with the number of stitches as well as adding a fourth color to change things up.

Crocheting with Dragons turned 10 today!
Crocheting with Dragons turned 9 today!
So...eight years. Very little posting in the past few. Not a whole lot of crocheting. I was painting fairly regularly until the world went to hell last year. Got a new job. Trying to get back to painting, crocheting, belly dancing.
Trying, anyway.
Well, it's been quite a while. I've been doing more painting than crocheting lately, and being a bit depressed about being involuntarily unemployed for the first time in my adult life, not much of either. Since I live alone, I've had very little interaction with my fellow citizens (and for an introvert like me to be complaining, that's significant). It's less government overreach than high risk group - I'm asthmatic, and living cheek by jowl to the tourist capital of the world means watching carefully.
Not that the tourists are even coming. And, even when the theme parks open back up, I don't expect huge waves of bored to death tourists with scads of disposable income to invade our shores. One, with the global economy in the toilet, not a lot of folks have rent money, let alone Disney dollars. And B, the U.S. government's ham-handed, uncoordinated, uncooperative handling of the pandemic is not going to inspire sane people to cram themselves into claustrophobic metal tubes hurtling across the skies to land at OIA and bounce onto the bus to Mouse Land. Florida made a grave mistake not diversifying our economy better. But hey, them rich folk only get rich by exploiting poor people, and foreign tourists will make up for the lack of domestic demand, amirite?
Yeah. Maybe it's time to rethink that. Maybe it's time to reexamine universal healthcare, and UBI, and having an economy that only works for the 1%. Yes, I know, capitalism is supposed to lift all boats. And it does, when everyone's got a boat, and the game's not rigged. But too many people don't have so much as a scrap of driftwood, let alone a boat, and the cards are marked and the dice is rigged, and the greedy sonovabitches still want more. Well, guess when revolutions tend to happen?
When people start to go hungry. When there's no food for their kids. When they watch their loved ones die from a disease that could have been avoided. To the obscenely filthy rich: you could have been contented with just being filthy rich, but no, you wanted more. And more. And yet more. If and when the pitchforks and torches start marching, when the guillotine and scaffold are built in the town square, don't wring your hands and say "it was just business." It stopped being "just business" when your greed started ruining people's lives, when your egos demanded you be feudal lords instead of leaders and innovators, when you bribed and lobbied and rigged the system to cover up your sins. I won't pity you.
Oh, and I don't actually want you to die. I want your asses in prison: for every kid who went hungry, for every diabetic who died from lack of insulin, for the families thrown out on the streets because you wanted to convert a slum into a condo high rise for your filthy rich friends, for the planet you've tried to destroy to line your pockets.
Because that's what you really deserve.

I haven't kept up with Tumblr lately; life happens. And because my arthritis has been bothering me, I've been doing more painting than crocheting.
