The child of a Mermaid and a Centaur has a 1 in four chance of being a normal human.
This looks like an ordinary book found inside Cornell University Library.
But…is it?
Trees get email in Australia. In 2013, trees were assigned email addresses by the city of Melbourne so citizens could report any problems, but people ended up writing thousands of love letters to their favorite trees instead. Source Source 2

After the Battle of Shiloh in 1862, many Civil War soldiers’ lives were saved by a phenomenon called ‘Angel’s Glow.’ The soldiers, who lay in the mud for two rainy days, had wounds that began to glow in the dark and heal unusually fast. In 2001, 2 teens won an international science fair by discovering the soldiers had been so cold that their bodies created the perfect conditions for growing a bioluminescent bacteria, which ultimately destroyed the bad bacteria that could’ve killed them. So I found this cool website for learning ancient languages
go wild
holy fuck
I just did a quick perusal of the Coptic resources on this site, and it has all the resources I’ve personally found worthwhile and then some. These are resources that took me months, if not years, to discover and compile. I am thoroughly impressed. The other languages featured on the site are:
Akkadian
Arabic
Aramaic
Church Slavonic
Egyptian (hieroglyphics and Demotic)
Elamite
Ethiopic (Ge’ez)
Etruscan
Gaulish
Georgian
Gothic
Greek
Hebrew
Hittite
Latin
Mayan (various related languages/dialects)
Old Chinese
Old English
Old French
Old Frisian
Old High German
Old Irish
Old Norse
Old Persian
Old Turkic
Sanskrit
Sumerian
Syriac
Ugaritic
For the love of all the gods, if you ever wanted to learn any of these languages, use this site.
Likely helpful for various recon-oriented polytheists.
Today the Department of Awesome Macro Photography is marveling at the photos of German photographer Martin Pfister (previously featured here) who lives in Bavaria and enhances the natural awesomeness of mushrooms by backlighting them with tiny LED lights. The illumination turns photos of already beautiful fungi into scenes from the forest floor in Avatar.
Visit Martin Pfister’s 500px page to check out more of his marvelous mushroom macro photography as well as his gorgeous landscapes, like this one, which looks like a shot of Mordor. Prints of his photos are available here.

Would a unicorn sound more like a horse, a zebra, or a donkey?
I Am Groot crochet beanie One of a kind. Super awesome
This is an emu egg. One emu egg weighs about two pounds, or the equivalent of roughly 12 chicken eggs. Size, however, isn’t the only trait that sets emu eggs apart. Their stunning, emerald color makes them one of the most striking eggs on the planet. The blue-green hue is for camouflage. Emus lay their eggs in the grass and the color keeps them hidden from other animals. (Source)
That is a dragon egg
