“How’d you get a bruise like that?” (because it's been a long time since uncle Kaito watched Hannako XD)

     The girl turned her head down, her bangs mostly covering her eyes as they looked down almost in shame. 

     “N-No…it’s nothing, please don’t worry about it.” Hannako sounded like she was pleading. Almost like she wanted to spare someone’s feelings.

“Everything’s fine, Ran. I have Hannako here with me.” He paused to give the small girl a brief smile. “Actually, since it’s pretty late, I was thinking that if it’s alright with you Hannako could stay the night here.”

      It wasn’t strange for Hannako to want to stay over, but it was usually over the weekend. The brunette hesitated a bit, thinking it over before giving the other her answer.

    “Well...alright, just make sure she doesn’t stay up too late. It is a school night after all.” It was weird sure, but she could trust Kaito. Ran would just have to talk to her daughter when she got home.

“It’s okay,” Kaito reassured. “It’s never a problem making sure my favorite dragon princess is alright.” He smiled as he got his phone out to can Ran. He really hoped the poor girl would be okay. Bullying was no laughing matter and he wished that he could do more for her.

     It didn’t take long for Ran to answer.

     “Hello? Kaito? Is everything alright?” She sounded understandably worried. Hannako should have been home, but she had a feeling she would be with him. Still, she couldn’t help but worry about her daughter.
