returning to dock town market and the pottery hasn't even recovered from my last visit
~just rook things~
rip to d'meta's crossing but it's still so weird to me the way everyone knows and cares what happened there. I get it, it's the only blighted village in the game, but back in the day when you came across a weird village wrecked by some shit it was just a Tuesday
@mylosingdogs sent me a lovely ask, and since they were curious to see Solas in my style... 🐺
when talking about disability representation and tropes in fiction I think it is absolutely imperative to be specific about the disability itself. of late ive seen critiques of (disabled character who is trying to cure himself at any cost) and people are like oh no that's bad writing :( he should accept himself :( and I'm like bro the illness he has is killing him. that's. that's the reason.
it's such a needless thing to say, like in other words, "you should use your brain when critiquing something" but that's apparently expecting too much from fandom sometimes
me trying to make conversation with a grey warden: so uh. which blight is your favorite
princess who keeps running away not because she doesn't want to be queen or anything but because she wants to make her knight come recapture her every time
me everyday with the dragon age lore
I know it's both impolite and highly unlikely but the conspiracy theorist in me does wonder if humans have a darker origin than the elves. there is such mystery surrounding them, even more now that we know they existed during Elvhenan, and yet elven history (beyond the aging thing) never mentions them. if elves can come from spirits then why can't humans come from, idk, the undead?
first - they supposedly came from across the Nocen (which isn't verifiable either). all we know about the Evanuris and anything "across the sea" pertains to Those Across the Sea, a weird enemy repelled by life force magic. who is to say humans weren't crafted from some sorcery over there? furthermore (this is treading on territory™) who knows if humans were even connected to the Fade? what if they weren't, and that's why there are no ancient memories of humans (as opposed to memories of Elvhenan)?
It's likely pro-Evanuris propaganda that convinced the elves the humans took their immortality. But, what if it was based on some small truth, like humans being tied to the Abyss?
Then of course there's thematic irony, my beloved. Humans oppressed the world spreading the Chant of Light but consider: humans originally were born of something outside the Light. something something... there might be a primeval deep subconscious hole in them... (or I'm just crazy). I mean, if ancient elves can be the tevinter old gods by another name, then who's to say humans didn't originate from something that would totally wreck their minds and everything they stand for?
Stealing this from Reddit cos its natural home is Tumblr.
I've finally reached BG3 final✨ (I've tried a lot of characters, but this one turned out to be my most persistent and favorite, really nice experience)
And here I am again
rook: june has arrived you know what that means
solas: impossible. his archdemon was slain during the fifth blight
Do you know what secret is hidden underground in the Hall of Valor? Now you do. It's a cheese shark, made from 51 cheese models. Only found in Rivain. Although you won't see it without fly cam.
another lore thing that has me with googly eyes 👀
so the Rite of Tranquility severs people from their dreams, and the biggest tranquil entities out there are Titans. Obviously with Titans being the foundation of Thedas, their severed dreams have a huge impact on the world (the Blight) in a way some rando's dreams cannot. But it's still wild to me that there are loose dreams scattered around the world, just part of a person's consciousness... hanging out. Hypothetically if it was powerful enough, any dream of a tranquil person could just take a corrupt hike and start a Fadeborne plague of its own. Is that not nuts? Like I know it's not gonna happen, but it could. In theory.
Would that not be a badass consequence to oppressing the mages all these centuries?
the right thing to do in this life is uplift one group while not putting down another, and I feel like tumblr preaches it often and yet disdainfully, viciously, does not practice it
if you want more of something you have to stop telling people to eradicate its opposite. cause it doesn't make you wiser, it just makes you look bitter and mean
approximate the bunny as a perfectly round sqpheroid with perfect elasciicity
hmm
