Speaking of SOAD, i hate Lonely Day on principle. It is such a NOTHINGBURGER of a song. The composition sounds like it was done by weezer sounding ass song.

It’s obvious that Daron or one of the other members wrote it because the lyrics are so damn dry. What do you mean this came out the same year as B.Y.O.B.

I feel like so many of their songs are so politically charged and deliberately worded that lonely day just stands out like a sore thumb.

They have songs that talk about how the US has turned the prison system into a business, how the media is desensitizing us to increasingly more horrific events, how the rich always seem to get away unscathed during wartime, and then “ohhh i’m so lonely its so lonely thank god i survived being so lonely today 🥺”

I really think it shows his willingness to be ignorant in his privilege. With everything going on right now it just makes him seem more and more like a coward and the glaring difference between the SOAD members and Serj Tankien. Not to say that he’s sunshine and rainbows either, his tolerance of his bandmates views goes against all the ideals he fought for with his music. I think they’re all cowards, Serj is at least the best person in the group from the outside.

There’s a small amusement park near where I live and when I was a kid I’d go often with my family. It was extremely family friendly to the point that half of the rides were(and still are) built for toddlers to ride!

On the big kid side was the ride every kid dreamed of. Bright lights. Fun music, riding on a boat, big whale, the general feeling that you need to be in one specific spot. You’d go up in the seat and spin up and down and sideways.

This was the ride that every parent hated, if only for the name. They BEGGED their children to sit on the left side only, to no avail, as ride etiquette is stronger than inaudibly shouted words.

hi from philly. can yall who dont live here not treat us like reality tv. we know we're insane. but this is different. we would absolutely resist a twin cities type jawn. but you guys should know ICE is already here.

their hq is in our fucking chinatown. theyre kidnapping people daily. our sheriff and DA are talking a big game but the local police are absolutely cooperating with ICE. our mayor refuses to even mention ICE. ICE killed a member of the cambodian community here this year and it's only January. His name was Parady La, and he was in acute medical distress and they didnt get him help even as he begged (family fund linked in article).

PA also has the biggest ICE concentration camp in the region in Moshannon Valley Detention Center. Of the 31 deaths in ICE detention last year, two people, Chaofeng Ge and Imam Fouad Saeed Abdulkadir, died here in PA. Huabing Xie, who died in ICE custody in California, was temporarily held here too. Imam Fouad's death is still being investigated. Chaofeng Ge was hung in a shower only 4 days after entering Moshannon. His hands and feet were tied behind his back. ICE called it a suicide and told his family not a damn thing, because it's so easy to hang yourself when you're hogtied and because and they're filthy fascist liars.

All this to say, ICE is already here, they're killing us, and they hope yall will just be content to sit back because Philly is majority Black and other BIPOC and has a reputation. Don't fall for it.
