Black girls and women don’t have the luxury of washing off our dark pigmentation. It isn’t some self tanning lotion that we can easily purchase from a store. We were made dark in the womb. We were born with it. We will die in it.
Having this skin gets us killed, raped, denied housing, healthcare, jobs and so much more. We get ridiculed and shamed for our skin to the point of self harm and suicide. Life isn’t some dress up game for us. Racism and Misogyny is a full blown real concept with scary consequences if you have a certain skin tone.
I have never been so disgusted and enraged in my entire life; to witness such selfishness and delusionalism; to have a bunch of conventionally attractive privileged white girls claim blackness is seen as “more desirable”.
Do you know how many black girls and women cry themselves to sleep every night because society tells us we’re ugly, vile, undesirable for having dark skin, broad facial features, kinky-nappy hair?? Do know how many mixed race children are denied by their non-black families for being black?
Utterly ridiculous and disgusting
