cellarmonsters:
The young djinn jumped and almost dropped his journal from his hands. In the distance, he could hear the sounds of arrows shooting mid air. He was heading to what it seemed like a bow practice, that what the soldier had said.
âThank you for the tip,â he turns and smiles to the soldier, though, he was wary. The man was human, obviously so- and Samuel had heard of many ridiculous requests men had made to the Sheikh. His elders had always told him to be wary of humans. Their greed for riches were higher than their pride and dignity. So he kept his distance from the soldier as he notes down more of his observation and talk with the man.
âYouâre welcome. They may not be my boys anymore, but the men training them are. Thereâs no need for unnecessary casualties in a time like this. Not when The king is having familiar ideas.â Oh, Cepheus. Why must you repeat Acrisiusâ mistakes? It was a foolâs errands, taking on the gods like that. One that only led to more ruin. Heâs convinced that the attack on Olympus is the thing that set their generation of misfortune rolling. It had to be. There was no other solid explanation.
Draco continues with his blade, and pulls a leather strap from part of his armour to hone the edge as far as he can take it. Bronze was a bit too malleable for his tastes, but it wasnât like there was anything else around that they could use for blades. The Iron Age was a fair distance off, and he didnât even know it was on itâs way. Oh well. Wasnât like he was going to live to see it, anyway. Humans didnât live that long unless they were made to by the gods, or through sorcery. âWhat brings you to Argos, outlander? Trade?â

sarmatianslave:
âThey are my brothers but they are unwilling to go the distance to be free. I WANT to be free.â
âOr they knew better.â His orders did not say kill. In fact, they said if he killed the boy, he would be killed. Brutally. So he stood his ground, still resting his hand on the pommel of his sword.
"E-Excuse me... Where are we?" [prince-charmont]
âArgos.âÂ
He wasnât going to ask. It wasnât close enough to a festival to label drink as the culprit in this case, but heâd seen his own men take to it and end up in Athens before. Though⊠not that time of year. The seas were too rough for most to end up anywhere unaware that theyâd travelled. And he couldnât have gone over land, that much was certain. âŠAlright, so heâd ask.
ââŠHow do you not know that?â
princexcharmont:
Char nodded and smiled. âIn not as weak as I look!â He bent his knees and lifted it with a grunt. âGottit,â he said with a little strain.
The turned to Draco and smiled. âSee? Easy.â
âMy first commander told me that it was a good rule of thumb to always underestimate yourself. That way, progress seems more like progress, and pride stays where itâs supposed to be.â Chained up inside, of course. Pride made many warriors fall. Draco didnât want to be one of them.
He nodded and carried his amphora towards where the bath was built, in the next room over. It was a small, private kind of room, well-lit by high windows covered in sheer flowing fabric. Not his own choice, but heâd kept it that way anyway. The bath itself was low and wide, made of the same material as the amphorae. Made for reclining, even though some said it was healthier to sit.

sarmatianslave:
âI have no family. I know how the Romans work. Take the boys from their homes⊠Burn the rest while theyâre away. I have no one.â
Galahad had his hand on a dagger on his upper thigh, unprepared to use it. He wanted to fight but too scared to kill. Heâd only killed animals and disabled the enemy for Tristram or Gwaine to finish off.
âEven if that is true, you have the other knights to consider. Do you not have a bond with them?â
Draco didnât know much about the knights, other than the fact that they were raised in groups, much like how heâd been raised with the younger Greek boys before being shuffled off into the Legion. Though, not all of them were lucky enough to be soldier material.

sarmatianslave:
âIâd rather die a free man then a slave!â Galahad moved slowly around the fire, like a young wolf trying to size up its hunt.
Draco sighed and placed his hand on the pommel of his sword. He sounded every bit of his age and then some as he spoke once more. âAnd give up even a faint hope to see your family again?â The old soldier shifted his feet in place and wondered what itâd take to knock the child unconscious, so he could carry him at least part of the way back.

princexcharmont:
âI defer to your judgement.â Char followed him to the kitchen. âAfter all, this is your lands for now.â
âFor now.â When they got there, Draco immediately picked up a rather heavy looking amphora by one of the handles before motioning to a smaller one. âThink you can lift that? Itâs heavier than it looks, so be careful.â
my favourite part of fanexpo is that mads is gonna be tan as hell in yet another movie.
cellarmonsters:
Sheikh Suleiman often told young Samuel to bring company along when he is sent for a supply run to nearby cities. The Djinn leader also shouldâve known how the young man often had his mind easily distracted, and strays from the paths carved into the ground and shown on map. It was also why the rest of the following kept a sharp eye on the young man, for he often strayed too far from their lands.
Samuel was intrigued by the city heâs found this time, furiously jotting down in a worn book of pages as he roams every street and crevice he could reach. He had traded his clothing to something lighter, to blend in, but he still wore the hood around his head in attempt to hide the bark-like skin on one side of his face. The young Djinn wanders nearby sort of an encampment, robes soaked with the rain falling heavily. He did not notice the other quietly sharpening his sword, cooly walking past the soldier.
The presence didnât bother him. In fact, it did quite the opposite. Colour him   intrigued. For once. He shifted his shoulder back, rolling it against the edge of   his armour in a quiet stretch. To reveal his position, or to watch the newcomer   from a distance? ...Watching had never been very rewarding outside of the   scouting missions of his youth. Even with the rain, Dracoâs ears were as sharp   as ever. Light footsteps, none of the typical âarmouredâ sounds. Not a soldier,   then. Interesting. Maybe a trader, but they were far from the market district.
Draco shifted in place, and the weight on his sandals gave the movement   a nice, sharp crackle. He wasnât one to announce himself traditionally, of course.   That would have been boring. But he did manage to speak up almost immediately.
âYou may want to keep your distance. Weâre training a new set of archers today.   ...Theyâve been hitting everything but their targets.â

Char frowned in confusion. In his home servants poured the baths already. âOh⊠Well, will you show me how itâs done?â
âItâs fairly simple,â he said once heâd caught up. Of course, he kept moving, making a beeline for the kitchen. âBut like most things in life here, donât overdo it unless you donât want to end up in the asclepeion for a few days.â
Î€ÎżÎŸÏÏÎ·Ï - Archer // Draco & Galahad
sarmatianslave:
âBecause you gave up! And you can never trust the Romans. They wonât grant me my papers when I come of age. They wonât do it after one last mission.â Galahad was close to growling. âI will not be forced to bow to a false god!â
âWe didnât give up. There was never a choice to surrender.â Was he still speaking of the Greeks, or of himself? He stood shakily and kept his stance fairly wide. âAnd of course you canât trust them. But I have orders, and youâd have to fight your way past the entire empire to get home.â

princexcharmont:
âWell I shall have a bath and return to you.â Char smiled and wandered out.
âWait up,â he called once he got in another good stretch. âI have to fill the bath first. The waterâs in the kitchen.â And then he wandered out of his room, too.

princexcharmont:
âIâd appreciate that, Ser Draco.â Charmont sat up and climbed out of bed. âAny washbasins I may use this morning?â
âThe bath is downstairs.â And with a groan and a stretch, he was up as well. His bones crackled as he did, but that was nothing to worry about. âI didnât use much water yesterday, so there should be enough left to wash up with.â
âLast I checked, you were an adult.â There was little emotion to his voice when he spoke. Just a low growl of suppressed rage, but that was normal. The old soldier ran on it, after all. âAct like it. Anything less will get you killed out here.â
ANCIENT MYCENAEAN PALACE UNEARTHED IN GREECE NEAR SPARTA
An ancient palace believed to date back to the Mycenaean civilization has been unearthed in southern Greece.
The 10-room Aghios Vassileios complex is thought to have been built between the 17th and 16th centuries BC and was discovered near the ancient village of Xirokambi, close to where the warrior society of Sparta existed, the countryâs Culture Ministry announced.
It is believed the palace was destroyed in a fire in the late 14th or early 15th century BC, UPI writes. Religious icons and items of worship which survived the blaze have been found on the site.

âIâd like to see sunrise.â Char smiled and moved to press a chaste kiss to Dracoâs lips and held him close as if scared heâd disappear.
And Draco gently cupped Charâs cheek. âYou may want to change first. Thatâs a garment fit for slumber, not for running around in. I can teach you how we wear another type of chiton, if youâd like. This oneâs not sewn, itâs just pinned and belted in place.â
