Τοξότης - Archer // Draco & Galahad
Draco wasn’t used to the climate, and he wasn’t used to the type of assignment he’d been given. He wasn’t a scout, wasn’t a tracker, wasn’t a hunter, wasn’t anyone with the skill set to track down someone who’d just up and run off. In fact, he’d pointed that out quite plainly. But all he’d gotten in return was a short ‘you’re stubborn enough to do it’, which kind of made him regret ever acting that way. Kind of. Well, at least he’d get a break from his other duties while he was out playing fetch.
It wasn’t exactly what he’d call a vacation, though. Since his quarry had a fair head start, he’d gone without sleep in order to try and catch up with him. He sighed as he pulled the fur cloak on his shoulders a bit closer, just to try and get a little more warmth. They were right about the stubborn thing, someone who wasn’t wouldn’t be out in what they saw as frigid weather for that long. And was it too much to ask to send him out with a hound? Hounds were better at tracking than he was.
As he made it over the crest of a hill, he spotted movement off in the distance. There were no signs of settlements nearby, so he narrowed his eyes and pushed forward faster, perhaps a bit too fast for someone wearing that much armour but he was used to it. Maybe, he thought. Maybe that was him. If it was, then perhaps he could finally rest for a moment. Maybe build a fire and actually warm up.
