          “ i know you’re never gonna say that out loud ever again, so uh ---- ” hearing those words initiated the overreaction almost immediately. gippal dropped everything he was doing, walked on over to take hold of tidus’ shoulders, and began unnecessarily massaging them. “ let me just. savor in this moment. let me just... take it all in. ” he was fighting back a laugh as his fingers dug in to him, not too hard to hurt, but just enough to tickle and make him a little uncomfortable. “your best pal? really? amazing. wow. you know, tiddy, that means a lot to me. i like your name too, you know. it reminds me of nice things.” at that point, he couldn’t hold back his laughter. releasing tidus from his iron grip and massaging fingers, he gave the other a gentle and affectionate slap on his cheeks, before falling back on his bed. “ i like you too, pal. ”

gippal cares a lot about his outward appearance and presence. he exerts a very confident persona to the outside world, making his life seem as perfect as it could be. smart, handsome, funny... for the most part, gippal is living his absolutely best carefree life. he spends most of his time not in class, only because he can both afford and risk to do so (i said smart, but he’s really smart -- he’s an engineer!!!! he has to be!!!!). on the weekends, he sometimes babysits a brother sister pair, and often takes them to the park and plays soccer with them. in his free time, he likes to mess around with his friends. and by free time, i actually mean all the time. on the weekends, he does face masks and other skin care routine things, and also is a big gym goer -- he likes to train people, so just ask him! he’s a really big flirt, and he’s usually quite successful, as long as it’s not his friends that he’s flirting with. and despite displaying himself as a very suave, casanova type........ boy isn’t afraid of commitment, believe that! he just...... it’ll happen if and when he finds the right one, and also if he’s the right one for the lucky person :-) 

ok so the point of this post was to say... even tho is living this life, gippal does a lot of it to prevent anyone from... getting too close or getting too curious or feeling like they don’t know him at all? he has his close friends that he trusts with his life, but gippal doesn’t want to expose his deeper emotions to anyone other than himself. he keeps his private, personal life to himself so even baralai, nooj and paine don’t know too much about his family except that they do enough to provide for his lifestyle (he’s well off, and u can tell by the kinds of tech and random gadgets and shit he buys and tinkers with). this level of defensiveness and seeming necessity to protect himself stems from family issues and childhood trauma. for the most part, he has healed and grown from it, but old habits die hard. 

one of these days, he’ll open up. but for now, this very elaborate facade will continue to exist. and he will continue to flirt with you ;-)

EDIT: he’s a mechanical engineer, but he took computer science classes for fun. he’s too much. too powerful.

oh. oh. is she really gonna go down this route? skip one class? she hasn’t ever done this – like, maybe just one time and then she felt pretty guilty about it later on because her somehow perfectionist ass was howling all the way, but now — she raises her eyebrow just slightly at him, holding the only book left closer to her chest ( although she found extremely kind of him to offer letting go of the weight she had carried around all morning and then some, she still feels it would be unfair to leave all the trouble to him ). ❝ well, it wasn’t exactly in my plans for today, but — ❞ yuna shakes all other thoughts off with a shrug, lips finally forming a smile. ❝ i guess i couldn’t & shouldn’t say no if someone had to offer a much more fun plan, right? ❞ translation: she’s tired, you’re fun to be around, please save her.

          it wasn’t the answer he was expecting, so it took a little more effort than usual to hide his understandable excitement. he didn’t let the time between her answer and his reaction hang in the air too long, but it took a bit of internal alright gippal, keep it cool buddy, don’t mess this up to keep his cool. 

“ now, that’s the spirit! ” there was no trace of the slight internal meltdown that had taken place. after tossing the books in his possession into a storage bin hidden away in his bike, he exchanged them for a dark gray helmet and turned back to face her. “ for you? you know i’ve got something fun up my sleeve, ” he boasts, closing the distance between them. there’s a smirk on his face, as he’s standing directly in front of her now. “ but before we get to the fun stuff, safety first -- ” with his free hand, he brushes her hair back behind her ear, just so it won’t be in her eyes after he slides the helmet on for her. 

carefully, he slips it over her head, making sure to do it gently. he keeps his hands against the side of the helmet, smoothly sliding the visor up so he can look her in the eyes again. “ fit good? ”

         “ do you have any idea how beautiful you are? ”   the words spilled out of his mouth, a smirk playing at the edges of his alcohol stained lips. he was riding the wave of a good buzz, with promises for a more drunken state calling his name from the bar only a few feet away from them. gippal was no liar -- though most people seemed to question how genuine his statements were, at any given time, drunk or sober. though, he couldn’t really blame them, with the way he carried himself. the young man never took himself too seriously, always joking and messing around and maybe flirting a little too much. he was carefree, sprinkled with a handful of loud and extra.

but he always appreciated when someone could play along or avoid getting offended by his actions. when virote leaned in close, gippal did not flinch and stayed still, even flashing the other an overwhelmingly charming smile. when he leaned back in his chair, so did gippal. “ only ever to the people who really deserve to hear it, ” he answered, pausing to take a sip of his henny and coke. “ and not just the ladies. no one’s immune to this face. i mean, look at me? right? ” he laughs, drinking again from his glass.

weirdo? “ maybe weirdo isn’t the word i would use, but thanks... or whatever. ” another smirk -- it seemed to be the start of a good night.

  " aw, c'mon! you don’t really believe that stuff, right– ?! it’s JUST a stupid.  .  . ”  he doesn’t know what to call it. a quiz? not really. more like a lottery. “ random.  .  . ” he eventually gives up his attempt to find an apt, intelligent word, blurting the only one that makes sense: “ – THING ! ”  suddenly, the results are meaningless, even though he had touted them as gospel truth when it was only Gippal’s reputation at stake.

          gippal sighs, shaking his head left and right with a rather impressive display of disappointment pointed toward his housemate. it seemed a little too easy to get the other to backtrack on his own words. slanderous words, of course, but words tidus seemed to believe in whole heartedly. 

“ of course i don’t believe it. thirty eight percent? really? pffffft! ” cue the eyeroll. “i don’t need some... ‘thing’ telling me what i can do.” usually, gippal is comfortably sure of himself. it’s very rare when his pride is affected, so even this slightest hint of insecurity has made his usually extra demeanor a bit more controlled. 

but give him a few hours. he’ll get over it. even if the rest of their group chat won’t. “besides, if the girls wanted to really know... they could always just ask me...” gippal jokes out loud, then begins laughing afterward as he stretches out on their living room couch, legs hanging over the armrest. “ i think i’d be into that, you know? ”

❝ they’re not. they make me want to kill ten men and then myself. ❞ she glances at the books slipping out of her reach to end up in his curious hands with a certain seriousness, wondering about the sarcastic remarks given by the other. ❝ you should know them by the way, since we share so many classes — i’m guessing you’ve already ditched them? ❞ a corner of her lips tugs upwards, a grin forming there before leaning back against a wall, mismatched eyes resting on him still, now the center of her undivided attention. ❝ honestly, same. ❞ 

          with a couple of the books already held securely in one hand, he extends the other, offering to hold the rest of them for her. whether or not she had been carrying them around all day, gippal had no intention of letting her carry them any longer. it was only the right, gentlemanly thing to do, after all.

“ i mean, i went to... what, the first week? or maybe it was just the first day,” he muses to himself, eyes looking up, as if the answer would be somewhere in the clouds above them. “ class seemed easy enough, anyway. you know how that goes. ”  he shoots her a smirk -- he took a bit of pride in his slacking off, but only because his brain was wired just right. gippal could skip every lecture and still manage to do well in whatever class he took. if he actually took the time to study? he would become too powerful at that point.

          “ oh yeah? so... is that you telling me you’re trying to ditch the rest of your classes today? ”

          gippal comes to a full stop when he spots the car. he lets out a long, exaggerated whistle as his eyes settle on the black corvette parking nearby. “ sweeeeeeet ride, dude, ” he praises out loud when he hears the car door open and close on the driver’s side. but he’s too busy looking at the vehicle top to bottom to see who he’s talking to.
