I was just followed on tumblr by a very popular author/blog and I'm flattered and I've enjoyed some of their fics but. I won't be following back—NOTP ship reasons mostly.

I'm just asking if anyone else feels like they're "supposed" to follow back uber popular authors/blogs? I feel like I'm doing the unpopular thing by not doing that. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Lol.

I used to think this way too, but then I realised that the other person is probably not even thinking that way and I am overthinking it.

Which Weasleys are the most logical for character bashing do you think?

Percy. He already went against the family in canon, so it wouldn't be hard to expand on that without making him very ooc.

I think authors get it wrong when they have Hermione not interested in Draco's galleons—I think she'd be very interested in them. Just not for herself. Her eyes would go all starry eyed for the good she could do with it. :)

my writing has been maturing bc I used to just write smut for smut's sake and when characters had close bonds they just HAD to be shagging. but now I give them more depth and I think platonic love is underestimated in fandoms.

I just accidentally bookmarked a fic on ao3 and had to wait for it to show before deleting it. Anyone else ever accidentally click on the bookmark tab? I feel so bad for the author if they were there seeing it but they probably didn't bc I know they wouldn't get an alert but I still feel so embarrassed lol.

I feel like newer readers are getting more impatient. Being vocal about their disapproval at long update times. I wonder if that understanding that this is just a hobby and people shouldn't pressure authors is going to become a thing of the past.

People have always been like that though. Go look at the comments on early ffnet fics, people were so entitled.

But society now is just impatient. We have been spoiled by getting movies/books online the day it releases via torrents and cam recordings, full seasons all at once, hackers get scripts while shows/movies are filming, they get music before it is released. You get real-time news. You get products from the store with a hour sometimes.

It makes sense why people want their fics now.

But you are right, they don't understand nor care that it takes time to write. They are very entitled and will ruin experiences for other fans and authors.

Well he was able to cast the curse on someone and keep them under it for almost a year, and they did as he ordered. So yes it is indeed canon that he is good at it.

Anyone who watches that show is dead to me.

She has been doing that for a while now. I'm not seeing anything online about her talking about the new show recently.

Unfortunately, the show will still be a hit.

i wanna transfer my stuff from google docs to ellipsus because of the AI thing but the site is not user friendly and the site can only import markdown (.md) files which makes it so much harder and tedious and annoying.

i feel bad but i'm going to wait for the site to become more user friendly before heading over. so much of it just rubs me the wrong way. if it's supposed to be a great replacement for google docs then why is it way harder to navigate than google docs?

all the other google doc alternatives i've found over the years also fall short. i just don't know what to do other than continue on google docs and hope ellipsus gets better or an actual better one comes along.

I accidentally reblogged a post that had AI in it and it took me an hour to realize. AI is so scary. Sometimes it's just slop and sometimes it's easy to miss. It is easy to accidentally use. Sometimes.
